Its a pretty good B movie.
For the genre, this IS one of the better movies. If you are watching it for softcore, this isn't the film for you. There are things that in my humble opinion people should consider when watching these movies.1) Your morality/political leaning doesn't matter. Check it at the door on your way in or find another movie genre that fits your views.2) This is a low budget film produced to give actors, directors, production... a way to hone their craft while providing fodder for mom and pop drive in theaters. It's not to be taken seriously. Watch it and have fun with it. Half the fun is that it sucks. These movies at the drive in were the original "Nflix and chill'. You could take your date for a double feature and when things on screen get boring you can find your date more interesting.3) If you focus on the attitudes of the people in a "Grind house", "exploitation", "B" style movie, like the abuses, rapes, sexual behaviors, I would refer you to 1) and remind you that this is a BAD movie. A reasonable person would watch it and let it go neither "overly enjoying" nor "overly suffering" because of it. It's a movie. It's supposed to be something beyond the realm of what most people would consider reasonable. Arguing misogyny or feminism over something that amounts to junk food for your brain tells me that people are losing perspective over every aspect of their lives. The very point of these movies is to show things to people that they typically would not see in other cinema. Turn it up to 11 and have people be not comfortable while they see it. It's part of the fun. It's make believe. The movie is what it is. The hero is portrayed heroically, the villains are shown in their villainy. The sound fades in and out going from nearly inaudible dialog with questionable post production voice over to extremely loud music scores and effects. Have your remote in hand and prepare to adjust volume as needed. The cinematography for it's time and primitive equipment isn't bad. The scenery and locations look fantastic. They appear to be in the same general area as many beloved spaghetti westerns. They would look better if shot with modern equipment, but I don't really mind a faded, scratched up print. The costumes and props are what you would expect from a B movie of this vintage. They did the best they could with what they had. I can't recall any blood, gore, or gratuitous nudity in this. A few flashes of women's bodies but nothing prolonged and drawn out. The beach scene was shot in a way that you really cannot see any more than her general shape. The acting is decent for a B movie. The lines are delivered in a certain way, over acted and dramatic (post production dialog recording, voice acting.). These movies rely heavily on the visual appeal of actors more than anything else anyway. Actresses that are sexy enough to keep people watching. Actors with strong enough faces to have a screen presence. Looking good showing some skin always helps. There is some action, swinging swords, violence, inappropriate behaviors to make you clutch your pearls and gasp out loud. Its just something that people should watch for fun when they need entertained without all the extra. Young Miss Landon worked hard for this role. She did her best to look good on screen. I think she pulled it off well. I can appreciate what they did here. I was entertained.

This film is way to silly to ever take even remotely seriously and it's all the better because of it
This lightweight bit of silly feminist Sword and Sandal film has Laurene Landon as a female Conan the Barbarian-type woman who really hates males (even berating her dog for being a guy) who goes on a quest of vengeance after her village is devested by pig-headed males (figutively, of course). This film is way to silly to ever take even remotely seriously and it's all the better because of it. Be it Landon's awful reading of the script, midgets who lack depth perception, Hundra riding naked through the shoreline for no reason whatsoever, the general inaneness of the story, or a combination of those elements, the flick is quite watchable IF you have a high tolerance for films of this nature. Don't go into it expecting Conan, don't expect even Red Sonia. Set your expectations very low though and you might be pleasantly surprised. And I'm talking "Babarian Queen" low. The movie also seems to go on to long and could've used some tighter editing.

aint really that back, said a child of the 80's
1980's? not bad. ridiculous today, but good fun back then. a movie foreshadowing beliefs of today having a "strong woman" placed in an impossible situation. left with the burden of rebuilding her all female tribe. kinda reminds me of the female characters in blaxploitations, just a decade later.

Awesome
What... did I just witness..... Greatness! Watch Hundra battle her way through the land of Bull....; covered in gooey... white... sexism... of the 80s! Viewer discretion is advised.

Wonderfully Corny.
Over the top terrible acting, and poorly choreographed fight scenes, combine to create an enjoyable (corny) movie.

Lovely Honeybee "Hundra" with Quite a Sting +++
I chose this movie DVD, along with another one starring Laurene Landon ["Yellow Hair"], when in quite an odd mood -- "wanting to see something like Conan/Red Sonya" -- but feeling that those were too well known to me -- familiarity having bred my contempt. I had seen some large unknown portion of the Conan/Red Sonya movie-series in a small cinema [during a mini-marathon of the Conan/Red Sonya shows]. I was there, while with "buzzed" friends having a good time [until then], at a Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Gaming Convention. We all walked-out, after some long while, in amused but heavy disgust, to another mini-marathon cinema room.I had read somewhere online [some martial arts blog] about Laurene Landon being interesting -- very lovely, strong and athletic -- insisting on doing her own stunts and martial arts -- hand-to-hand, sword-to-sword or bow-and-arrows. I have a "soft-spot" for a "hard-case" like Laurene Landon. Well, to my happy surprise, Laurene Landon indeed is lovely, strong and athletic via her cool action stunts with skillful grace. Why, she is as "bad" [or for real] as Jackie Chan -- dancing around on cliffs and roofs -- and jumping out into space, into water, onto horses, or just onto dangerous ground. She seems to like whips, ropes, kicks, punches, head-butts and throws as much as Jackie Chan too. And, she obviously has as much happy fun during her dialog and action. This all goes for both "Hundra" and "Yellow Hair" -- and some other work of Laurene Landon. As for "Hundra" in particular -- it really is like very-well-done Conan/Red Sonya sword-and-sorcery. Which is not too surprising -- as "Red Sonya" is stated by both producers to be an attempt to upstage "Hundra". "Hundra" was made just after "Conan" using similar settings and much of the same production material [clothes, items and props]. I feel that "Hundra" is uniquely fine-and-fun -- indeed upstaging other movies in its genre -- including "Red Sonya". Why "Hundra" [her and the whole show] even stays very interesting, colorful and fun -- with great grand scenery and music -- while a "new-balance" of diversity, equality, and especially feminism, is "worked-on" and "worked-out". So gals and guys can easily enjoy this Sword-and-Sorcery. Mean Macho Men-aces BEWARE -- "Hundra" gonna collect yo' hair -- and have FUN too +++
