Color Oops Hair Color Remover Extra Conditioning 1 Each

This stuff really does work. I have been using black box dye for my hair for a year now. I wanted to get rid of the color. I bought this stuff not expecting it to do too much. At first it smelled fine in the bottle. Nothing gross. I followed the directions, and once it set in and I took off the cap they give you. Holly cow! This stuff smells awful. Almost like rotten eggs. But it did take pretty much all the black out. I did order another box because the ends of my hair still are a bit darker than the top. I've washed my hair a couple times and can still smell hints of this stuff in it. Hopefully that doesn't last long?

Okay so I’ve been dying my hair with black box dye for years since I was 16 I’m 23 now. I was at a level one and I would say I jump to a level 5ish maybe even a 6 level. The smell is horrible and hard to get the smell out of your hair. I’ve read on reddit that the smell stays until you dye it or bleach it. I know the box says leave it in for 20 mins but I left it it for maybes 1hr and 20 minutes. I would like to note that I use Oplex has my shampoo and conditioner which is expensive but extremely good for hair. Also I was constantly checking my hair for any breakage. Did it damage my hair? Barely to be honest. It does feel a little dry than usual but I just leave some hair oil in my hair as I sleep to help with that. So yes I think it’s a great product.

A lot of work to remove a tiny bit of color. This product wore me out. Took so much washing and rinsing. My back and arms were killing me. In the end the color was still there . Waste of time, money and energy. For the love of God do not buy this product.

Okay, so first thing, the product smells BAD. Literally what I imagine the farts of a 65 year old man who’s diet only consisted of hard boiled eggs and burnt hair would smell like. And it did lighten some of the black and took out the dye transference that the black got on my hair when I died my roots last week. Tbh, I was surprised it lightened the long strands at all, given that I’ve been dying my hair black for the last almost 3 years. Buuuut it didn’t lighten enough to matter much in context to the look I’m trying to achieve. And idk if the smell will ever come out of my hair, bra, pants, chair, or bedroom. If I were you, I’d save yourself some time and some air freshener, and just get some actual hair bleach.

Did it help bring my daughter's hair back to it's natural color? Sort of... Black does stain and while this washes out the -pigment-, it can't do a thing about staining. She is naturally a light ash blonde and the best it gave her was a pale auburn. Did it lighten her hair color drastically? YES! She went from ink black to a light reddish brown/auburn with a single use. I do recommend using a very good clarifying shampoo when you go to wash out the pigment from your hair follicles. Color-Treating or conditioning shampoos won't cut it and will lessen your results. A second use made the auburn even lighter, but not orangey or unpleasant. Did it damage my daughter's hair using this product twice? Not even a little. Her hair felt just fine after both treatments. It was far gentler than any bleaching agent she or I have ever used and we were pretty pleased with getting her hair lightened that much without damage. It'll be so much gentler now when we go to bleach it the last few shades than it would have been trying to go from black back to blonde.

First off, this is the worst smelling thing I have ever put on my head lol! Like rotten garlic egg farts. It’s extremely pungent, so beware! That said, it does work. I wanted to go back to my natural blonde. I have been dyeing my hair brown black for a long time, so my ends really didn’t lift much. But my mids (more recently dyed) lifted from black to red/ginger in one application. In retrospect I should have gotten the extra strength version, but this did do what it was supposed to. If I had dyed my hair very recently, I imagine it would have taken everything out in one application. I’m saying this worked well because you just can’t lift black dye from blonde hair all in one go, so for my situation, this product did a great job and gave me a less drying head start on the inevitable bleaching I would have to do later.

I used Copper henna from Henna Maiden in my hair two different times and was told it’d never come out, and that I’d have to grow my hair out. I was also told that henna won’t allow your hair to absorbe any color you try and dye over it. I was freakin out! After doing some research online I found Color Oops and that it could potentially remove the henna. Well, it removed a good portion of it! I followed the directions exactly, rinsed and shampooed. After, I was sad to see the copper was still there. It was a lot lighter than it was, which made me happy, but I wasn’t sure if the new dye would take. I used a medium ash brown to balance the red tones. I have to say I am happy with the results because it allowed me to dye my hair another color and remove most of the henna. If I had used black henna I might be skeptical but I’d probably still buy this product. My hair after was a little dry but after I blow dried it, it was sooo soft. Lastly, even though It didn’t remove all of the henna color, it was still enough for me to be satisfied and that’s all that matters. Thanks Color Oops.

I recently lightened my virgin black/dark brown/grey hair with Feria Downtown Brown. I decided I'd like to go lighter, so I got Color Oops. Here are my takeaways: 1. No, it doesn't smell nice. It's a chemical processor. I washed 3x and rinsed for 20 minutes. The smell was almost gone. 2. I was anticipating red/brassy results because of my hair's natural base color. But I ended up with a creamy beige with some darker red highlights. It looks pretty cool! 3. It dried my hair a good bit, but I followed up with Shea Moisture Intensive Hydration Hair Masque for 30 minutes, then washed, conditioned, and used my leave in. Air dried and it's almost as good as new. **Bonus - that took care of the rest of the odor. I would absolutely buy this again. I followed the directions to a T and got precisely the results advertised, only better. Read the package, follow the directions, and understand the limitations.
