Sinful

I cannot figure out what happened to this book. It was strongly written and right on track and then about 3/4 of the way through it was like she tacked on the ending for a completely different book. We went from horseracing in the English countryside to kidnapping in the Middle East and a harem and rape. It did not go with the rest of the book and honestly made no sense at all. I was already starting to get annoyed at what a doormat the heroine was - just accepting the heroes terrible terrible terrible behavior because for some inexplicable reason she loved him. I was starting to hate him and was wishing she would tell him off and leave him. That would’ve been a better ending.

I wasn't sure about this book when I downloaded it, and when I saw it was over 7 hours reading time I was even less sure. Then I got into it, and what a wonderful surprise. The characters are well drawn, fully fleshed and interesting. Lots going on, and if you like horses and racing you really don't want to miss this one. I noticed numbers that appeared to be footnotes throughout the book and was very pleasantly surprised to discover that was exactly what they were when I finished the book. Historical background and details about the things mentioned in the story just added more meat to it. There are lots of reviews that cover what the book is about, so I will just say that it is extremely well written, and the editing is better than usual for an ebook. I fully intend to look for other books by the same author. I do think I would have picked a different title though. The book is a lot more than just hot sex.

The historical background gives this a different twist and it even includes end-notes to explain more of the context. I was concerned when the heroine participated in a rescue of the hero but when he got captured a second time? It worked out in a more interesting fashion than I expected. Thanks for sex scenes that were more tasteful than graphic, although there were a bunch of them.The problem that bothered me was the need for one last edit to pick up errors, such as extra characters, e.g. a freestanding y at the end of a word ending in y or an unmatched subject/verb.

I REALLY liked this story. It was a different sort of love story, one that had twists and turns, love and hate and wondering just what was going to happen. I read this every single chance I could and would give it 5 stars for everything except for the pages I skipped because it was either too much information about things that had already been covered or I had absolutely no interest in. There weren't many but enough that I give it 4 stars. I highly recommend it though and can't wait to see what else I can find from this author and wonder why I hadn't read her before.

Very entertaining Georgian roma ce. Racy, but not crude. The characters were true to life. The only thing that was unnecessary was the whole kidnapping & stud for the Bey. It wasn't entertaining, it was superfluous drama. It actually detracts from the storyline. I skipped over most of the ending chapters b/c I found the whole concept thrown in willy-nilly w/o purpose or flow to the story. Overall I would read this author again

First Susan Johnson book I ever purchased. Bought, owned, then donated that book fifteen years ago. Glad tore-purchase with desired Cover Art (despite missing “step cover”). Item as described. Prompt delivery. Would deal with Seller again.

Quite an adventurous tale. Not hard to identify with the wish for independence, the shackles of being confined to someone else’s will, and the enormous impact emotions can have. Interesting footnotes.

I first read this book years ago and loved it. Purchased the kindle version and enjoyed the book again. I am giving two stars because the kindle book is FULL of errors. Taking a wild guess I would assume a scanning program was used to convert the book. There are all sorts of places where the letters don't make any sense (L instead of I or vice versa) or words are missing letters or completely missing. I love the availability of ebooks, but good grief they need to be checked before release.This is POOR quality.

This nearly lost a point as "crisp white shirts morphed into a a "crisp" red shirt i n this one.Even the lover's body hair was said to be "crisp" here. I can tell you ......since we are on the subject..... that my body hair is not in the least bit "crisp" so I think we 'll draw a iine under that perh[ps.

I found this a diappointing read. The heroine, an innocent, was far too sexually agressive and the hero was too much of a cad for there to be much real romance. The plot was also silly. The heroine is being pressured into marrying someone she doesn't like so she gets herself seduced by the hero. Her father then forces the hero to marry her instead. They both then end up in North Africa where they are captured by a voyeuristic Bey and forced to have sex with each other.
