Lily Ross may have been successful as a pop singer, but in love, not so much. After her latest heartbreak, she decides to hide away on a small Maine island, heal her emotional wounds and work on her next album. He’s safe and there’s an instant connection between them, but Lily doesn’t dare let herself feel too much, at least not at the beginning. However, small town people and Maine islands have a way of growing on you and Lily is no exception. As the summer progresses, so do her creativity, self-confidence and determination to write her new album. While things are coming together for her career, what will in terms of her heart? Read the book and find out. Teens who like a story about a likable celebrity or a good summer romance will find a lot of satisfaction in this one.

There are fans, but not hordes of them and she can leave the house on her own if she likes. When she tries to make the most of her newfound freedom she meets Noel. Noel is a local who spends all of his time on the island. Lily isn't looking for a new man in her life, but they get along well, so they meet as often as they can. Noel doesn't like the spotlights though and Lily has to start performing again soon. Will things end with more heartbreak or is there a chance for Lily to find what she's looking for?Sing is a cute story about a famous singer who needs some time to reflect. After another breakup Lily has to learn how to be herself again. I loved the idea of a small, peaceful island where people don't care if someone's famous or not. It's the perfect place for something unexpected to happen. Vivi Greene's vivid descriptions are making it easy to picture Lily's new temporary surroundings. Lily has a lot to consider, life in general, work, friends and love. Being famous doesn't mean she doesn't have the same wishes as anybody else. She's unhappy and she wants to find a way to feel better again. I liked that idea and the fact that she's consciously working on having a good future is interesting.Vivi Greene shows that famous people are as human as everybody else. Fame brings money and status, but the downside is that often it also results in loneliness, lack of privacy and unequal relationships. Vivi Greene focuses on the sad part of it and balances it with something new and unexpected, meeting Noel and finding someone who likes Lily for who she is. That's sweet and lovely. I really liked this book. If you're into celebrity stories Sing is definitely a good choice.

First of all... how cute is this cover?! It just screams pop star romance to me!! It's definitely the perfect cover for this story. To give you an idea of this story, just think Taylor Swift meets the boy next door. That's pretty much what this story entails. I thought it would remind me of Jesse's Girl (but the reverse) by the synopsis, but it really didn't have many similarities to that story at all. Regardless, it was cute. It was a solid story about a pop star, Lily, who goes through a bad breakup and decides to spend some time away from everything to heal her heart. There she meets a local boy (swoon) and ends up developing feelings for him. At the end of the summer, she must pick him or her music.Sounds cute, right? That's because it is. The reason I didn't give this story more than a "good" three-star rating is just because it lacked any real depth for me on the part of the characters as well as the story. Lily was a bit frustrating at times, basically throwing her money around like it was nothing and expecting attention wherever she went. I'm not saying it's far-fetched or unrealistic in any manner, it was just hard to relate to her on any sort of intimate level. The story was super cute, but I didn't see a whole lot of character growth or anything as the story progressed. It had a consistent pace and a fun vibe throughout, so I really enjoyed it. I just wasn't blown away by any aspect of this story.Sing, to sum up, is a light, quick, fun read that's perfect for a day at the beach. If you're a fan of books involving music or celebrities, this is a cute one that you'll want to check out. Despite not being blown away by this story, I truly enjoyed it and I think others will as well. A great debut from a new author to watch!audioimpressI held off on reading this one until I was able to get the audiobook as soon as I realized that Andi Arndt was the narrator. She's one of my very favorite narrators. Her performances are always flawless. You can never go wrong with a narrations by Andi. She has the perfect teenage voice, acts out each character uniquely, and always brings the story to a whole new level.
