Keyring lights always have been generally low-quality, near-ubiquitous commodity items that you got from an impulse-buy counter bowl at the hardware store or a real estate office with a logo on the side. No one thought very much about them and these days, given that everyone has a flashlight in their pocket on their mobile phone, it's a product category that seems like it should be extinct. Thank goodness they aren't and, in fact, are hitting stratospheric heights of capability. This little keyring light is what Q Branch would work up for 007 if he requested a keyring light. It's packed with an absurd degree of functionality in a rugged little form factor that you can take everywhere without even noticing. With lots of fiddly clicky-click input the A8 is not for everyone, clearly. But if you are the kind of person who wants to fine-tune the output power of your light as you are searching between the car seats for a child's toy, or you're trying to close the circuit breaker in the basement, etc, this is your keyring light. Even if real life never before had created an opportunity to do so, you will find yourself getting out the A8 and activating its UV beam in situations that will astonish the people around you. The USB-C connection couldn't be more convenient and the little thing even has its own colored LEDs on the circuit board to help you monitor when the light is fully charged. Included magnet and clip accessories push this product into the notional six star category. It's excellent all around; the biggest downside for RovyVon is figuring out some way to improve it in new versions.

I bought the high-CRI version of the Aurora A8 with the UV, Red and Warm White side lights. It works just as advertised and was quick to learn to use (if you take the time to read the instructions). I'd go so far as to say it lives up to the hype I've seen in videos online. It's tiny, powerful, has decent battery life for its power, is well constructed and excellently and intelligently designed. My only gripe, and I knew this going in, is that the light isn't IP7+ rated for water intrusion. It can handle anything short of a direct dunking. I'm not one to go around throwing my gadgets in the nearest body of water just for the heck of it, but that little bit of peace of mind would have taken this light from outstanding to clear off the chart. I put this on my keychain with a quick-release and I keep it with me all the time. My friends all poke fun at me for my keen interest in portable lighting products, but on this one even my most skeptical friend was somewhat impressed. Everybody is frankly shocked at the light output available with a single press considering the size, and the light color is very easy on the eyes. If you're in the market for a great little Every Day Carry light with a few extra bells and whistles, don't let this one pass you by.

This flashlight has everything I want. Small and portable (fits on my keychain), multiple brightness options, and a red light. I love how you can customize brightness on the fly with just the single button. It has just one flaw that I can find: there is only one brightness level for the red lantern and it is VERY bright and it drains the battery very fast. I would love an ultra dim red option so I could use this as a beacon for multiple hours (Gen 5 feature request?). But even still this is my everyday carry flashlight and nothing beats it. Edit: Unfortunately the keychain loop broke off within a year because it's just plastic. Then at about the 1 year mark, the flashlight itself stopped working. Which is a bummer because it's a great everyday carry (EDC) light.

These are great. I bought one for myself and one for my partner. I had the previous generation with the plastic button and it was also great, but the plastic button did not hold up and the charging port was also easy to damage. The new style with the metal button and USB-C charging is phenomenal. Just put it on your keychain and have a bright and reliable light on you at all times.

There are lots of reviews and videos on the A8, so I wanted to give it a try. This is my third Rovyvon flashlight, and I really love my other 2 (A26 and E5). The size and features for the A8 really does make for the perfect EDC flashlight. It's very small in the pocket, the magnet clip is useful for me, and I love the high CRI LED (really one of the main reasons I started looking at Rovyvon). I like carrying the A8 a lot more than the E5 (but I think the E5 is the perfect camping flashlight). The major downside for the A8 seems to be the quality control. Both my original and replacement flashlights had issues with their on/off buttons (only worked if you really used your fingernail). It took a third replacement to get an A8 with a functional button, and even then the button still feels mushy and not solid like my A26 and E5. I also hate that the single button press doesn't put the A8 into moonlight mode like my A26 and E5. You have to double button press to get into the "last remembered" mode, which out of the box is super bright. To get it to remember moonlight mode, you have to keep the A8 on in moonlight mode for 3 minutes, then turn it off. On my A26 and E5, it just remembers whatever the last brightness was without needing to keep it on for a set amount of time. If I didn't have such positive experiences with my first 2 Rovyvon flashlights, I probably would have given up on the brand after this A8 experience. Hopefully they fix their QA issues and update the UI to single button press into moonlight mode and just remember the last brightness setting on double button press without the time restriction. And please keep on selling those high CRI models. For me, that is one of the biggest selling points :-)

It is hard to imagine a better keychain flashlight. It is light, smaller than many key fobs, and really bright. The removable clip and magnetic base are super useful. I don’t know how durable the plastic construction is but it is necessary to keep the weight down and allow the sidelights to diffuse.. Pros: - ideal for keychain EDC - bright for size - easy to change modes and lock - magnet and clip allow you to use it hands free - the uv light is also bright - usb c charging Cons: - would have preferred red light instead of the UV function - no screen to tell you how much battery is left - would prefer charging port to be behind watertight seal rather than just a rubber plug

This is a nice little light, MicroUSB, nice color out the front, with a good red side light and mult-tool like UV light for cash, scorpions, etc. The warm white side light does not flood and it can't tail stand to light the celling and flood a room. It does not have a magnet, but the clip makes it easy to clip to clothing and remove it to use it, but could snap-of so it is good around the house but use a lanyard outdoors. It is small so holding it is not as secure specially with big or fat or cold fingers BUT the plastic body makes it better to hold with teeth for a hands free light. If I could I would try the RovyVon H3 Pro 600 instead, more lumens, better grip. Customer service is grate

I bought my A8 significantly long ago and was very happy with the product. It's not cheap (but well worth the outlay), it is intuitive to use and each lighting option is potent. It's well made, and robust and has been on my keyring from the day I purchased it. I am a light user of the Flashlight, I only needed to re-charge it once, in the time that I had owned it, so was a bit dismayed when I came to charge it the second time and it would not do so! I thought I would reach out to see what RovyVon would say, but because of the gap since I purchased it, I was expecting a polite brush-off. To my surprise, they asked for a video of the Flashlight, showing what happened when it was plugged in and after reviewing that, asked for a copy of my Invoice and authorised the replacement without any question. I have to say, this is above and beyond what I expected and cannot thank you enough for the great aftercare service I received. I highly recommend this company, its products and the customer service of RovyVon. If I could give them 6 stars I would!! Hope this helps anyone looking to buy from this company.
