Zerust Rust Prevention Plastabs 1" x 3" - Pack of 10 - Made in the USA

I'm buying my current batch of these rust preventers to replace the previous set I had. They're supposed to last two years, so I wanted to update my existing ones with fresh models. So far, they have done a great job of preventing rust on my tools. My tools reside in a tool box in a non-climate controlled garage. This has been a problem in the past due to condensation during parts of the year. Once I added these, the problem has gone away. 10/10 would recommend.

I use these tabs for preserving infrequently used tools and hardware. All items are stored clean and lightly lubricated, and there have been no issues with corrosion. I replace the tabs once a year, more frequently if the storage boxes are opened more than once or twice during the year. I really like that the tabs are individually wrapped, and that one can cut the tabs in pieces for preserving multiple small items in individual cases.

not printed with text , wish they came in black

I bought these because I was moving across state lines and needed to have all my firearms cased up for extended periods. I've heard a lot of horror stories about foam padded gun cases ruining guns that are stored in them for long periods of time because the foam actually holds moisture up against the metal, corroding it. Knowing my guns had to be stored in these cases for 2+ weeks, I didn't want to take any chances with the summer humid air and I bought these and tossed one in each pistol case and a few in each rifle case. The guns all made the trip perfectly unscathed and could never tell they had been in foam padded storage for 2 weeks. Maybe I'm a bit paranoid, but with how expensive firearms are (and in some cases inability to be replaced, such as my Class III items) it's cheap insurance to get these little Plastabs. Now that I've moved i use them in my bed side pistol safes to keep the contents safe as I don't have powered heating rods like I do in my rifle safe.

No rust in tool box. replace after given indicated period.

I bought these right before being stationed in Korea for 2 years. I needed something to keep my guns in my safe from rusting, and these worked perfectly. When I got back, absolutely zero rust exactly the way I left them. Figured I'd come back and leave the review everyone is look for regarding reliability and longevity.

Love these. To my knowledge this is the second bag I've ordered. "An ounce of Prevention is worth a pound of Cure", as the old saying goes. Combined with desiccant packs (those little bead baggies you see in some food and drug packages) these make the perfect inexpensive EASY solution to keeping your metal tools/firearms/etc nice and rust free for years to come. IF you want to take it even further on the "Easy & Cheap" scale - look up "VCI paper" - you're welcome!

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I picked this product for price and star rating. That was years ago. I use these on every tool kit and safe. Vastly underrated as I live in the Deep South.

These were delivered in a small plastic bag with many holes in it. These items have a limited shelf life and deteriorate with exposure to air. They were packaged completely inappropriately . Giving 2/5 stars because there were actually the 10 they said should be delivered.

Good product

I wont really know if they worked until next spring when I take out my fishing gear.
