Kiss

Ok Lets get it out of the way, "Call Me Maybe" is awesome and well worth buying the album by itself; however, I think it isn't the best song on the album. I own Tug Of War and this album is even better. It is well produced, written, and CRJ's voice has transitioned into a new sound, but with the same familiar and wonderful Ennunciations. This album is so much more than I was hoping for and Well Worth Buying! I will review the songs in the order I like them because this is my review. The best song on the album in my opinion is "More Than A Memory." It is melancholy set to an upbeat tempo and laced with gorgeous vocals. It is one of them songs you stay in the car and listen to the end before you kill the engine and get out. The next song on the album I love is "Tonight I'm Getting Over You." You feel for the broken-hearted singer, but at the same time time the techno beat takes you on the ride to getting better and moving on. The vocals are incredible and the song is well composed like most of the album. The next song to make you hum along and wiggle in your seat is "Hurt So Good," the beat get awesome, the vocals are pretty and catchy, and it all comes together in a song you won't want to skip. I love that "Good Time" with Owl City is on the album!!! It is a great song and one of the best hits of this summer, and as well as "Call Me Maybe," worth the album purchase price. I figured a paragraph break was about due :~p "This Kiss" is a wonderful tune with the potential to be stuck in your head for weeks, and even though I don't really like the message of messing around, the song is cute and better than half the stuff on the radio right now. "Call Me Maybe" is great... enough said. "Tiny Little Bows" is so wonderfully peppy, poppy, cute, and catchy. I love that they sampled "Cupid Pull Back Your Bow... (originally by Sam Cook)" "Curiosity" and "Turn Me Up" are both wonderfully produced, written, and composed. "Turn Me Up" is a great song to finish listening to the album on, it wraps it up and and makes you smile. "Curiosity" is a very plateau-ish song. The build-up to the chorus says "here it comes.. wait for it .... wait for it," but then the chorus falls short. The song is very good, but could have been better. A beautiful song for the hopeless romantic at heart is "Guitar String/Wedding Ring." CRJ's vocals are strong, confident and combined with the track's great back-beat will have you tapping your foot. "Your Heart Is A Muscle" is very pretty and I can't place the piano accompaniment, but it wonderful. OK here's the Bad news, "Beautiful," CRJ's part in the song is pretty, but the song is filler. Considering J. Bieber is listed #1 on the executive producers, I'm not surprised he has a track on the album. Thank you for producing the album though Mr. Bieber. This is one of the best pop albums ever compiled in my opinion. I fully endorse it and hope it dominates the billboards or whatever they have now. Ok, if your looking for an upbeat cd to get you into a dance mood, then this is the kinda cd you'll like for sure. It takes me back to the late 90's, early 2000's with the Brithey Spears days, kinda of the bubble gum pop era. It doesn't have a whole lot of great depth and soul searching, but will keep you listening with it's upbeat songs that'll make you wanna dance.There are a couple of ballads in there that are pretty good too, which a good cd should have. I think this girl has a great future ahead of her. She has a great voice, and if she can pick some good songs and producers to help her on her journey, and mature a little along the way she can be in the music business for a long time.I think this is a great for her first really big release, and first big U.S. release. I'm sure this will have a few more radio hits off of it, and some songs will be remixed for radio or dance clubs. Either way, this girl is going to be around for awhile unless she totally makes some wrong choices musically.So if your looking for a some music just to get you in and upbeat mood, or to dance too, you'll like this CD. I did, and do recomend it to my friends looking for some new music to add to their collection.

Music is in the eye of the beholder, isn't it? I'm a fifty something mother of 2 young men (more men than young) but I like a good pop song and bought this album for its Call Me Maybe, which I couldn't get out of my head. There are several other good pop songs on it, including Your Heart is a Muscle. At the price ($2.99), it was a good purchase. If it had been more expensive, I might have taken a pass and bought just the one hit but I'm glad it was priced low enough to tempt me to try the whole thing.

I kept hearing people talking about "Kiss" and "Call Me Maybe" and thought, what's it all about? So, curiosity made me buy the CD and, oddly enough, I think "Curiosity" is one of the two best songs on the CD. While I like "Kiss" and "Call Me Maybe" they didn't make me want to sing along like everyone else apparently did. But I have to crank up "Curiosity" when it comes on and I think that "More Than a Memory" is the best song on the album. I like the way she sings, but I have to say that "More Than a Memory" has potential as a powerful song and with someone with a really powerful voice, it could be a show stopper. And again, that's nothing against how Carly sings. She has a beautiful voice. So, what do I want you to know from this review? It's a pop-and-dance sort of CD with some catchy songs. If you like that kind of music, you'll probably like it. If you don't, then skip it and check out a genre that you do like.

Kiss de Carly Rae Jepsen es un claro ejemplo de cómo el pop debe de sonar. An average sounding record at best. There is not enough depth in the presentation. The upper end detail is good for the most part. The tone is fairly warm. This vinyl reissue does sound better than the CD I own which has even less depth and a smaller sound stage. The vinyl quality itself is good with not too much in the way of surface noise.
