Worked Great
My phone company charges a fortune for data in Mexico. I got this SIM for a 9 day trip to Mexico. I went to Cabo and 60 miles north of Cabo. I used the heck out of Google maps, where we were north of Cabo, it was all dirt roads, there are no street names or street signs, you have to run with Google maps or you will be permanently lost. I burned 420 MB in the time I was there. Most was google maps but a little in GMAIL, airline app, etc. But NO social media. And I only backed up photos when I was on WiFi.This SIM worked great. I dropped it in my phone (my phone holds 2 SIM cards) a week early, did the on line activation thing, and about 24 hr before I got to Mexico the SIM went active. I changed planes in Houston so I turned off my U.S. SIM and turned on the Mexico one. It worked fine for calls, texts and internet the whole time (there were a few dead spots but that is not a surprise considering I was not in a city most of the time).Only issues I had were: I had one person, texting to him was intermentent, I think it was on his end. Because there were 6 other U.S. people that I had no issue communicating with. I called and texted a few Mexican numbers and had no issue with those. You just have to remember to put a +1 before all U.S. numbers. So I edited the contact cards of those people I was communicating with.

BEWARE! Did not work as advertised
My wife was traveling alone and needed a phone on landing in Mexico to contact her ride. This product was advertised as "Telcel Mexico Prepaid SIM Card with 2GB Data and Unlimited Calls and SMS".I tried calling her for two days but could not get through to the Mexico phone number that was assigned to this card. I specifically ordered a card that should have had data and minutes the moment it was activated. It did not. She arrived at the airport alone and was not able to call her ride. She was finally able to get the card to work by going to an OXXO and adding money to the card. This should have not been necessary.I should get a refund for receiving a product that did not work and for the money she had to pay in Mexico to activate the card. I should invoice the company for the aggravation, for the cost of the taxi to get to her destination and the worry that was caused to the person who was to have picked her up at the airportI see that several people had good luck with this product but is it worth the gamble? You will not be happy to be left without phone service when you need it and were expecting it.

It worked like a charm
This worked like a charm. I was nervous becuase of some of some of the reviews. We activated before we left and it worked immediately we landed. The data outlasted our week long trip to Cancun. I would recommend it to anyone traveling to Cancun. It was simple to activate and a great price. Thank you Telcel for making our trip.

Not a scam
The reviews were really throwing me off, but for $30.00 I figured it wouldn’t be too much of a loss if it didn’t work. I bought this for traveling from the US to Cancún. It worked perfect. I registered the SIM card the night before we flew out and popped it in when we landed at the airport. The data lasted me for the entire trip and I was able to call and text home without having to be connected to WiFi. It was a winner for me.

Worked great
Good value vs. paying roaming fees. Only reason for not rating 5 stars was the activation webpage could be better. I followed the instructions properly, and submitted my info., and the webpage didn't show a confirmation, it just popped back to the original activation page with blank fields to fill in. A confirmation reply would have been appreciated. I did email their support asking if my activation went thru, and I got a reply that it had been activated.

Worked OK, but not great
I bought this SIM card for a 13-day trip to the Yucatan. It is touted to provide unlimited talk and text for 26 days, as well as 2GB of data.Installation was easy, as upon inserting the SIM card into my phone, is smoothly changed carriers and reconfigured the phone's APN's.I was able to make voice calls back the the U.S., although the quality of the calls was only poor to good. No one tried to call me during the trip (at least not that I am aware), so I can't comment on receiving voice calls.I was able to text to the U.S., but could not receive texts. I confirmed via e-mail that people I had texted did indeed receive the texts, but their responses were never received. I had them update their contacts for international calling to Mexico, but that made no difference. I contacted Customer Support through the website provided, but never go any response. The cellular service coverage was very good pretty much anywhere we went, which included Chichen Itza, Izamal, Merida and Uxmal. I used the data only when not within range of a Wifi network, and kept my phone in "airplane" mode to prevent using data up inadvertently. I checked my data balance on the second or third day of the trip. It said that I had a "zero" balance on my data, but the data continued to work the entire trip, except for day thirteen back in the Cancun airport. I had a strong cell network signal, but the data didn't seem to work any longer. So, a mixed bag. Helped me out a couple of times when my stand alone GPS got confused by the unconventional Mexican addresses in Merida, but otherwise not great.

Great for a trip to Cancun
Bought this for a week long vacation to Cancun.Important notes:1) Activate your sim card by going to the site mentioned on the card packaging BEFORE your trip. Simply enter in the date of your vacation on the site. Then 1 day before the actual date, they will activate the card for you.2) If you're going to Cancun, there is no service using this sim card inside of the airport. You need to go outside of the airport in order for service/data to start working.3) Other than the airport being a problem, we went to Chichen Itza, a cenote, Xplor, and this card had good service the entire time.4) I would recommend a 2GB for a few days, anything longer than that would probably be more sufficient with a 6B+ card.5) This card does not come with a little pin thing to push open your sim card tray in your phone, if your phone has that. Luckily I was able to get a paper clip which helped open the tray from my phone to load the sim card in.
