MM371W-SOL Automatic Gate Opener Black mEDIUM

I installed the gate opener on a 12ft tube gate. Gate swings in. Installation went smoothly, completed in 2-3 hrs in the dark with a headlamp. Pros: * Easy installation. As an EE, I am used to looking at electrical schematics, so that may skew my experience. * Came with three remotes! I was expecting only two. * Was easy to program our vehicles' built in remotes to open the gate. * Remote seem to have a 100-200ft range, depending on conditions. * It looks great installed, in my opinion. Cons: * Does not come with a battery or case to store a battery. * Included cabling is a bit shorter than I would have preferred, especially from the opener to control board. * Solar panel can be purchased separately, for less. * One of the remotes seems to not have the same range (worse) as the other two. * The stock pins it comes with are not the most secure. I may change them out for a more secure option in the future. It would be trivial to bypass the gate opener if you know what you are looking for... Thus the reason for an additional alarm/camera system. * Did not include the muffler brackets to connect to a tube gate like other kits I looked at. Thankfully I had some laying around. * The included "stop" bracket was a bit short. I had to substitute with a piece of painted angle iron. Reasons we purchased this opener, in conjunction to installing a driveway gate: * It gives our kids a definitive line they can play up to. * It gives an image of security without the effort of manually opening a gate to let in visitors or to leave our property. * The gate, combined with the opener, gives us a small layer of security (we combined it with a driveway alarm to notify us that someone is at the gate - we also have a camera system). * Prevent unwanted visitors by simply closing the gate remotely. * The gate seems to help slow down traffic entering our driveway when the gate is opened. * It provides an extra layer of security to keep our cattle on our property in case they escape from their fenced pastures. Overall, we are happy with this purchase. I will update once I go through a Minnesota winter. I do have some concerns about the battery freezing and weak solar charging through the cold, dark winter months. 2023.05.18 - Unit is still working great and no change in opinion above!! 2025.06.26 - Survived several winters and still working great! I still highly recommend this gate opener.

Easy to install. Be sure to buy the clamps if you are putting it on a tubular gate. The clamps make the installation a breeze! Buy the small remotes (the ones for 4 for $20) as the larger 3 button remotes that were included have a very limited range.

I purchased this gate opener in 2023 and have had nothing but problems. It opens when it wants to, sometimes it won’t close all the way and now it’s not working at all. I do not have the money to replace it so when I can save up I will be going to a different company.

Opener was easy to install and set up. It works great once you get it dialed in. The negatives are you need to pay close attention to what is included. I had to pause the install twice, once because it did not come with brackets for a tube gate, and the second because it didn't come with the required mounting hardware. Not a major problem but I wish it was clearer when I ordered it. My other issue is one of the remotes did not work out of the package. It may might be the battery, but I am pretty remote and can't just run out and get a new battery. Otherwise, it's well built and appears to be good quality.

Great price. don't know how we went so long without one. Can install in a day with some help. Recommend at least 8 hours sun we get about 6 and seems to work just fine hasn't slowed down one bit. It fit remains steady with power

I haveva 571 at one gate and finally broke down and got a 371 for my other gate. No more getting out in the rain to open the gate. Install and set up is easy with the new style control board. Pairing to the remote and my built in opener in my Ram was a breeze. Running this one off solar charging and so far works good.

Easy to install with the right knowledge. Took four hours to completely install including running AC wire underground, gate leveling, and newly installed gate brackets. If all preparations were made in advance the install of the gate operator/brackets/wiring/mounting extra batteries for backup power/set remotes took about one hour. See how long it works for but so far very happy.

We had to replace the previous gate opener that was a mighty mule as well. I was able to reuse a lot of the previous mounting brackets.
