Love it!
I love this bell. It's not loudly obnoxious. It's a nice light bling, bling. I've been using it to commute daily and it serves the pedestrians well. As much as I love sneaking up on peds...it's not the best idea for those folks that are older or mobility limited. And then you have ppl with their phone distractions whilst on the shared bike/ped paths and it helps them not get run over by me also.I like the retro look to it also. I placed it on the left side of my handlebars...close to the index shifter so it was easy to reach in time of need.

tiny sound, 4 months later zero sound
Pretty terrible sound from the beginning but the color suited my bike so I kept it. No one, I mean NO ONE moved out of the way from hearing this bell. Now four months later (out of the return period) and it doesn't work at all, not even a 'ting'. Nothing. I don't think I'll ever buy a bell again without testing it out first.

Bell sounds dead inside.
Admittedly, it makes a sound alerting pedestrians that you are, or would like to be, passing them. However the dull tinkling also serves as an incessant reminder of the inevitability of death. May not be a deal breaker for you but think about it before purchasing. And, after, everytime you want to pass someone to get somewhere on your journey to the grave.

If it weren't for the fact that my kids loves this damn thing so much...
I bought this to mount on my kiddo's busy board sometimes called a stimulation board. It is really loud, so if you're thinking about getting this for a bike, I am sure it will do the trick. If it weren't for the fact that my kids loves this damn thing so much, I'd give it 4 stars because it is so loud.

Nice, loud ring to keep you safe
First thing's first: I have to unscrew the bell JUST a bit to get it to ring properly. If it's screwed on entirely, it stifles the ring. This has the unfortunate side effect of giving the thing a bit of a rattle when going down bumpy roads. I will be checking with my local Public Bikes shop to see if this is a defect. That said, this still comes highly recommended. When set up properly, the bell is LOUD, which is just what you need to get the attention of pedestrians about to meet your front wheel. The design is elegant, mounting it is simple on many handlebar types, and it rings quite easily, which is a boon when you have to hit it quick.

Bell sound is not overpowering but is a nice clear tinkle
Heavy. Quality made. Bell sound is not overpowering but is a nice clear tinkle. It is not impossible to ring with one thumb as some are. It is ridiculously cute on my Townie bike.

Very very cute but sound was single ding - not what i would think of as ring of bell. Also didn't work every time - usually took a couple times to make it work.

It's a bell. Ding Ding. It would be nice if the add had an audio feature so we could have heard what it sounded like at first. We were looking for more of a multiple ding ding ding ding ding sound. This bell is a press lever Ding, release lever Ding. Trivial I know but it just was not what I was hoping for in sound. Other than that it is loud and works.
