Too Bright

I absolutely love this album, my first from PG! Since I purchased this one, I’ve since purchased “Learning” & “Set my heart on fire immediately.”

I've been a fan of mike since "Learning" I loved the short, somber yet sanguine songs, the lyrics woven with metaphors. with "Put Your Back N 2 It" he moved towards slightly fuller instrumentals, still they had the quaint acoustic charm I was very fond of. This album is quite a big step away from what listeners are used to yet somehow it's unmistakably perfume genius. the lyrics are more powerful and the production of these songs resonates deeply. the sound is rich and full and bright in one song then the next it's dark and gloomy and almost kind of nasty. the lyricism has the same shirt and sweet charm but the addition of synths and computer generated textures adds another layer of fascination to these tracks. I would venture to say this is his most accessible album yet. it has more elements of pop and techno but it's not exactly confined to a specific genre and I think everyone could find at least one song off this album to enjoy. and beyond all that, he's just a really cool and articulate guy and his art moves me personally. I'm very excited to see more music like this from mike!

beautiful music, beautiful voice, just opened it and popped it in and I had to increase the volume, so beautiful, full harmonies, so soulful and loving. No idea what the lyrics are yet but the sound is great, just what I needed now.

One of my favorite albums of all time. I played this vinyl instantly and it sounds flawless.

One of the best musical experiences I've had in a long time. Every song is a winner, crafted exquisitely into a aural painting.It is one CD I've had playing constantly since receiving it.It spurred me into getting his first two albums which left me amazed at the consistent artistry throughout the works. Looking forward to whatever direction Perfume Genius goes in the future.And it seems the world is paying attention.Well done sir, well done indeed

Mike Hadreas just knows how to concoct music that seduces you in. Each song is so different and new. It is an album that should be listened to by all. At least tried by all.

i love it! the music is like boop bop heyyyyy scream! i love dancing to it like is so good! but then a sad song comes out, ok ok, i'll listen to it. i remember my bunnies who died. i'm sad. but then another hip moving song comes out, ok ok, i'm happy this album is so good! that's life. i eat vegan pizza now. yum.

This album reminds me of a combination of Gary Numan and Lana Del Rey. Every song is a winner. I can't quit playing it. Love the videos too!!

The tune 'Queen' is the stand out track and i expected there to be more your stopped-in-your-tracks songs of this type on the album. Instead there's a lot of haunting piano led tracks, whispered vocals, minimal instrumentation which begins to feel a little samey so the songs don't grab ya like 'Queen'. But its an album which stands out alone and sounds brave. His live show is quite intense and shows he believes in what he writes, and performs with his heart on his sleeve.

Your never to late to the party to listen to this band simply amazing group and songs.
