The music brought back memories

There's The Mack and while the production gleams and the arrangements are busy, this is definitely a rung down from those masterpieces by Isaac Hayes and Curtis Mayfield. Hutch doesn't have quite enough personality (either as a writer or a singer) to take the Blaxploitation sound anywhere surprising. Still, it's a worthy addition to your collection if you dig that widescreen epic funk sound.

Along with Shaft, Superfly and Black Caesar, you need to have this if you are into early seventies funk and soul, which was the sound of blaxploitation films as the best black artists at the time were tapped to provide the soundtracks the these gritty urban crime films. Highly recommended

Exactly what I wanted

Love the album, loved all the music. It took me back to those times of my youth. Only small problem was the case was cracked when the CD arrived, but I was happy that the inside was protected.
