Humicase Humidification Kit

I have the  Humicase Protege Classical/Flamenco Guitar Case Black  and after using up the initial liquid during the dry winter months I decided to pick up this case for the refill liquid and the hygrometer.I tried using distilled water on the pods as recommended by other Humicase users but I found that my pods leak when water is used (even after using sparing amounts of water and letting the pods dry overnight). It made me a bit uneasy so I went ahead and bought the humidification kit.It is a bit pricy for what you get. It comes with 8 oz of the activation solution (the humicase comes with a 2 oz bottle), two pods (which is included in the humicase) and a hygrometer.Here are my thoughts on the kit:The Activation solution is great. It is a bit pricey but I managed to make the 2 oz bottle last over the winter months and seeing as the humidity in our area appears to be adequate in the warmer months, I may only need to use 2 oz over the winter months only. Knowing this, hopefully the 8 oz bottle from this kit will last a couple years.I have the humidifying pods from the humicase and they are the exact same thing. I would have loved for the humicase company to offer a kit with only the hygrometer and solution bottle for a lower price as I think that users who are looking into this product probably won't need two extra pods. It would have been great if they included adhesive velcro straps so that you could use the extra pods in another guitar case. It works great in the humicase and with a little modification to another guitar case, I'm sure it will work nicely in a non-humicase guitar case.The hygrometer is tiny but still legible. It fits in a slot in the humicase under the headstock so you don't have to worry about it tumbling around the case or being uselessly stuffed into the supply box of the case. I can't speak for it's accuracy but having compared it to other hygrometers around the house, mine reads a bit lower but is always within 4 points of the other hygrometer readings. So while I can't vouch for its accuracy, it is consistent. I'm sure this will be an issue for some buyers who are a bit more finicky about percentage points. For me, it gives me enough of a reading to gauge if I need to refill the pod.Overall, it is a pretty expensive kit for what it is but I've found that for what you get, it is comparable to what you would pay for other humidification kits and a hygrometer. For me, I am happy with the kit as I don't have to deal with refills for a good while.

It works to keep my case humidified but I don't think the solution is anything special. I've just been using water and it works fine.

Customer service was horrible. It's a shame because I think the product is pretty good.
