Comfort Food for the Great Outdoors!
On my recent backpacking trip, I decided to try the Mountain House Creamy Macaroni & Cheese, and it did not disappoint. After a long day on the trail, I was eager to refuel, and this meal was just what I needed. With no need for complicated cooking, I simply added hot water to the pouch and, in under 10 minutes, I had a warm, cheesy delight ready to eat. The macaroni noodles were perfectly cooked, and the creamy sauce had just the right amount of cheesiness to satisfy my cravings. It was so convenient to eat straight from the pouch, which meant no cleanup after a tiring day. Whether you're backpacking, camping, or just looking for a quick meal at home, this creamy mac and cheese is a must-try! I can definitely see it becoming a staple in my camping food supplies.

The Best Food We Brought Camping
The Best Food We Brought Camping Out of everything we packed for meals on our recent camping trip, the Mountain House Macaroni & Cheese was hands down the favorite—especially for my kid. We had a lot of food options, but this was the one thing he actually got excited about and finished every bite of. It was easy to make, tasted great, and after a long day in the woods, it was pure comfort in a pouch. Out of all the food we brought, this was the winner. I’ll definitely be bringing more next time.

Nice for travel, expensive as backup food
This was fine. Super tasty? No, but 4 outta 5. Takes time to cook, like 20 minutes overall, and don't rush it or you will get some crunchy noddles. Everything works in packet, and there was plenty of sauce to maybe add to some other dish - if you like. Not a cheap product overall, but for an easy travel meal that just needs water, its nice.

Delicious and convenient.
These Mountain House foods are great. They never go bad, take up little space in my trailer, and are very easy to use. One thing I found out is if you shake the bag before adding water, everything is evenly distributed in the bag.

Versatile & tastes great! 😊
Lightweight and easy to keep in a backpack. Good value for money, and for a long shelf-life product, tastes really good. We keep just a couple at hand for camping, hiking, or hurricane season.

Needs better quality check
I ordered two packs, one was mostly cheese and hardly any pasta which affected the texture of the mac. Family likes the taste and texture of the packet that had a good balance of cheese and pasta.

Tasty. Noodles al dente.
I thought this was decent. It filled me up and the noodles were still just a touch crunchy, but good food on the trail. This was my first try at home. Made me want a little salt, which made me think I should have spices in my bug-out bag. My bf did not think it needed salt. He like it, said he would eat it gladly on the trail.

Taste is pretty good; needs a longer time than listed to rehydrate
This is the first time I’m trying this. Reviews from others have made me expect a certain sort of quality and taste to the Mountain House brand, and this mac and cheese doesn’t disappoint on that. Pros: 1) Easy to rehydrate - it just needs 325ml of boiling water; 2) Taste is pretty good, although the saltiness of it is higher than my preference. But since I’m planning to have this for my emergency stash and won’t be eating it regularly, I think the salt content is all right for this goal; 3) The cheese thickened into a nice sauce coat instead of being watery; 4) The amount for one pouch seems enough for my husband and me to have a filling meal. Cons: 1) Takes maybe five minutes longer than the suggested timings to get the macaroni to become soft enough to eat, rather than have that slight bit of crunch that indicates the macaroni hasn’t fully rehydrated yet. Note: Maybe adding some chilli flakes would break up the potentially monotonous and too-rich taste of the cheese, but this is simply a personal taste reference. All in all, it’s a good buy and I intend to get more pouches to store.
