This is a great tool to learn to use thimbles
Thimbles are so important. My friend was getting carpal tunnle Syndrome from sewing and always pulling the needle using her thumb and index finger. I told her this was her issue. She needed to push with her middle finger, not pinch/pull the needle. So, I sent her one of these. While I make my own, these are very useful. Most people do not realize you need to buy the right size to use a metal thimble. It has to stay on when you shake your hand with the finger pointing down. If it falls off, metal or leather, you can made it fit better buy putting a thin strip of leather from your nail bed over your finger tip and down your finger pad as added sized to your fingertip to get it to stay. As thick as you need to give the bulk to make a thimble stay on. I highly recommend these leather ones. While I use both, I won't cry over losing a leather on outside my home like I would if I lost my sterling custom made thimble. GREAT PRODUCT. BUT A FEW, even. They will wear out in a year or so of constand use.

Favorite Thimble
I've tried a lot of thimbles, and this is my favorite! It lasts longer than other leather thimbles and I can still feel where the needle is. It does stretch out pretty quickly, and comes off my finger a little too regularly, but a quick like of the finger and it will stay on for awhile. I still prefer it to metal thimbles.

Best thimble especially for hand quilting
This will be my go-to thimble for a long time. I've used it only once and it is already my favorite -- comfortable, flexible and not limited to protecting only the point of my finger. Because leather will stretch over time I suggest buying a smaller size than you think you need. This size small is snug, not tight, and is very secure on my finger. Wish I'd found it sooner.

Not sturdy enough
Was excited about this thimble when just purchased but after a little use was disappointed. It is comfortable but the leather is not thick enough to keep needle head from going almost through thimble when quilting thru a seam. I use a number 9 quilting between and the head is small and the thimble provides very little protection .

Perfection! 7 month trial
I waited 7 months before I wrote this review so I could really use it and tell my experience. I have been through at least a dozen different thimbles before I fell in love with this one. I liked leather but most of the other leather ones had seams sticking out on edges that caught the thread and made it hard to pull thread through without pulling it out of the needle. This thimble has the seams toward the back of it so they do not catch the thread. The leather is strong enough to push the needle through without puncture although it eventually may wear on that part. I love it so much I’m ordering more to keep in reserve. I tried several sizes and decided that ordering the bit smaller one was perfect because after it warms up a little on your finger the leather gently shapes to you finger. I don’t want one to slip off and this one stretched and fitted my finger perfectly even though it was initially a bit snug. If you have had trouble finding the perfect thimble, give this one a try.

Fits my 4.4cm circumference finger
This listing is for the small size. My index/middle fingers are ~4.4cm in circumference. The thimble fits great - a little loose at the opening but perfect at the tip. My hands are small and the thimble goes past the first joint, halfway to the second. I also stuck my fingers in the size guide on the packaging which seems to overestimate the size of the actual thimble a little, but is accurate (my thumb won't fit in either). The top, patterned side is one layer while the rest is two layers. Tried it and I can't feel my sewing needle through the two layers. The stitching looks neat. Smells like nice leather, if that matters.I'm very happy I bought this and may buy a medium for my thumb if I can justify another $11 for a finger hat.

perfect for stitch-aholics like me
I bought this in May this year and it’s just starting to get to the point of looking to replace it. I’m an avid cross stitcher, I’m disabled and unable to work due to physical conditions, I’m mostly housebound and cross stitching is my way of coping, I do about 4-5 hours (spread across the day) every day, so I think this thimble has lasted well (plus my cat has taken a liking to it and thinks it’s a toy, when I wake in the morning I often find it in the middle of the floor).I can only use leather thimbles due to allergies and skin issues, I’ve tried many different types and this one is by far my favourite. The leather is the thickest I’ve come across, but no so thick as to prevent feeling what you’re holding, it’s soft but durable. The inside is kind of brushed (similar to suede) to make it more comfortable to wear, I suffer Erythromelalgia, a rare disorder which causes intense heat in my hands and feet, I worried that wearing a leather thimble would cause too much warmth in my finger which could result in pain, but I’ve had no issues with that, my finger doesn’t get hot or sweaty.I have tiny hands even for a woman and the small size is perfect, it stays on as long as I need without struggle and without being tight either, I have short nails and it comes down to just below the knuckle below the nail. The leather is stitched very well, there’s no signs at all of it coming apart, others I’ve tried are glued and fall apart in a month or two. There is no metal plate inside this like in others, but honestly I’ve had no issues with the needle piercing the leather until recently and I have some stubborn needles when my canvas is heavily stitched and I’m filling gaps. It has now gotten to the point where the area I use to push the needle has started to wear and with stubborn stitches the needle has gone through the leather a few times, but the leather is thick enough to slow the needle down so it’s not actually come into contact with skin yet, but it’s a matter of time at this point, that being said any material will show signs of wearing down and weakening after daily intense use so this shouldn’t be seen as a flaw, it’s just natural. For the occasional needle worker this thimble would last years, for those who stitch an hour or two after work, this thimble would likely last a few years, for those like me or professionals it will last 6-9 months which is much better than any of the others I’ve used (and I’ve tried A LOT).I highly recommend this to anyone who regularly works with needles (sewing not medical 😂)

I wish there was an XS!
Nicely made leather thimble, well and thick, and it's great that the seams are folded to one side. I wanted it to wear on the ringfinger of my left hand to prevent sticking myself when folding fabric over that finger when picking up 1 thread of the fabric at a time. Sadly, the S is still a tad too large for that finger. It just about fits my middle finger, instead. As there is no XS, I will keep it and make do until I can find a better solution. I also find it's REALLY warm, and my finger starts sweating, which feels a bit odd, but is not unexpected for a leather this thick. All in all, great product, but not quite suitable if you have very slim fingers.

Great thimble fits well.
This was bought fir my daughter who has been doing a lot of sewing during look down. She has very thin fingers and finds a normal thimble falls off. Bought this in a small size she loves it fits well. No more sore fingers.
