I got this to ensure that my dog can enjoy his bully sticks without swallowing and possibly choking on that last little bit of them, and it does work great for that. What I've found is that he actually prefers to chew bully sticks using this. I think he enjoys that it makes it easier for him to hold the stick. I bought this in 2 different sizes, the medium and the large, so as to accommodate various sizes of bully sticks. Great product, really sturdy, easy to clean. The important thing to remember using these is to wet it with water anytime you're either inserting or removing a bully stick or else you won't be able to get the bully stick in/out. When inserting the bully stick, also make sure to give it a few minutes to dry before giving it to the dog so that the bully stick won't inadvertantly come out.

This works really well! I got the large size for 12 inch bully sticks.

We were able to fit our large bully sticks in it (with effort). Our bulldog was STILL able to pull the bully out of this, he’s an insane chewer. This will work great for most dogs and most products that are less than about 1.5 inches wide

I bought this to ensure that my puppy would not choke or swallow whole the end of the bully stick. My puppy is an aggressive chewer and we go through A LOT of bully sticks. I was very impressed with the quality of this holder and how well it holds each stick. This seemed like a great idea, but my puppy is able to pull the sticks out of it.

This really helped us feel more comfortable giving our super chewer puppy bully sticks! We usually get the cadet 12” brand from Costco and make a point to grab a bag with thicker sticks, and they have rarely been pulled out by our pup. It grips well and we often have to use pliers to pull out the ends. It’s quite large, about the size of a baseball, but allows him to hold the stick without the risk of swallowing the bully stick when it gets too small, and helps us keep better track of it (so it does not slide under the couch or coffee table). It’s held up very well over the last couple of the months and we do plan on replacing it when it deteriorates.

I think getting the little small portion of the bully stick that is left, out of this particular style hokder is tremendously difficult even with a screwdriver, water, I feel like my hands will break trying to get it out. I would never buy this again. The screw in kind that look like a small dumbell, are SOOO much easier and better. Great once it's in and the dog loves it. Horrible when you try to get the remaining bullies stick out. Pretty much impossible even with the screwdriver. At least for me.

I decided to wait to write a review after some use. I bought one of each size and the grip with the screw to use with my Old English Sheepdog puppy. These photos are after 3 months of regular use, and by regular use, I mean my puppy uses these not just as safety grips for chews, but as toys. The grip still holds as well as day one, and it takes his chewing well. He loves to chase these outside and the texture is one of his faves for chewing. I also freeze these (mostly the red one) as an alternative to his kong or other similar toys. Now, onto the grips primary function as a safety grip: my boy loves bull pizzle. I love that I can let him have his fave chew and I can worry less. He loves that he gets a toy and treat all in one, and the grip gives him something to hold while he chews. I use the small and medium the most, and purchase the thick pizzle from Downtown Pet Supplies through Amazon and also the Chewy brand (jumbo) from chewy. Just wet the grip, twist in the treat, let it dry, and it’s secure. To remove, reverse the process. These grips do not replace watching your dog. Of course it is entirely possible for the chew to come out of the grip, but in my 3 months of use, that has been rare. Just follow the size guidelines provided by the company. I will definitely buy more when the time comes to retire these!
