Diptyque Feu de bois Candle, 6.5 oz, Red, 3.5" Tall x 3" Diameter

I have to agree with one reviewer who said the scent of this candle is something like wood-burning fireplace. Unique smell, never smelled another candle that had such a scent. It has good throw in my apartment, and even when the candle is not burning, I can catch a whiff of its scent just walking by it. I accidentally bought another candle with the same "Feus de Bois" name (but it was by LAFCO http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002QFXL4O/ ). Don't confuse these two candles! Yes, they have the same scent name, but to me the LAFCO brand "Feus de Bois" smells more like a fir tree (which is nice, but I really wanted the "wood burning fireplace" scent). So after buying the LAFCO brand "Feus de Bois" candle, I then bought the Diptyque brand of "Feus de Bois" and upon opening its box, I said "Yes! THIS is the scent I was looking for!" I cringe at the price of this candle, especially since it's not a huge-size like the LAFCO candle at a similar price, but I justify paying for this Diptyque candle because I love the scent and have not found any candle with such a great unique scent.

Yeah, that was my first thought until Ii received the Jasmine Candle as a gift last year and I absolutely loved it, I wanted to buy another one until I saw the price! Having wasted $ 40 dollars on a range of sickly sweet and artificial smelling Yankee Candles I decided it was time revisit Diptyque candles and once again they are outstanding. The feu de bois candle is truly the smell of a real wood fire, I can't describe it any other way. It's worth every penny, and if it is anything life the Jasmine candle, it lasts forever. You only need to burn them for 20 mins or so for the perfectly balanced, gentle fragrance to fill the air. No I don't burn it every day, or in the bathroom, $2 IKEA candles are great for that and I probably wouldn't buy more than one or two of these a year, but if you really want to treat yourself to something amazing I would highly recommend these. So who spends $60 on a Candle? I DO :)

While I love this particular brand and scent, the candle I received barely has any fragrance at all. I’m not exactly sure why, but I am very disappointed, considering the price.

Are these candles rather pricey? Yes. Are they worth it? Yes! I am in love with the smokey, woody fragrance here. Diptyque makes a quality candle like few others. The fragrance is strong and fills the room in a beautiful way. It is important to burn the candle properly, as to maintain even burning and to eliminate the accumulation of black soot on the rim. Speaking of, the glass containers are beautiful, so be sure to recycle and repurpose them.

While the feu de bois scent is original, it is not at all robust and lingers in the air only for a slight time. This is a relatively pricey candle and I had expected more.

Love the scent of this candle! It is not overpowering, but has a warm woody fragrance. It reminds me of the smell of a 300 year old tavern where the wood smoke from thousands of fires has permeated the wood floors, mantels and trim. You know that smell when you go into an antique house and you just know that there is a fire lit before you even see it? It is that kind of smell - ancient and soothing. I burned the candle for the first time last night (for about 3 hours). This morning, when I walked through that room, it had that subtle scent of a wood fire that had recently died down. My hubby wasn't too keen on spending $60 for a single candle, but stopped complaining when he smelled it. Will definitely buy more.
