I previously purchased the PrismaColor brand sharpener, which is a razor blade style. I couldn't understand why the pencils never got sharp and the points broke every time I used it. Then I read a customer response to a question regarding sharpeners and learned that the soft wood of the PrismaColor pencils requires a helical blade. I am so appreciative of the person who wrote that comment! After purchasing this sharpener, the problem is completely resolved. Not sure why PrismaColor brands a sharpener that is so ineffective with their pencils, but I have now thrown it out and exclusively use the helical sharpener.

I still have my first "keepable" drawing. I was 10 yrs old. Now, 52 years later.... I have owned nearly every brand, every size and every quality of colored pencil on the market. Thank goodness commission pays that bill! Now let's throw in the downfall of our favorite brands of colored pencils giving up their quality of product to save a buck. I would happily pay more for consistent reliable output. I cringe and hold my breath each time I need to repoint the pencil. I've owned 50 cent hand held sharpeners and $50 electric as well. So far I have positive results with this sharpener. Excellent for quick repoints or full on sharpening a blunt pencil. I always use graphite sticks to prime the blades a few times a week. Much less breakage! This sharpener also saves on desk space and will travel well. Will update if my feelings change but so far so good. Oh...quick tip...use a dryer sheet to treat the inside of the dust bin and the shavings won't stick and block your view.

I compared several pencil sharpeners according to the monetary value invested, the performance or quality of, and to the abilities of this product as listed in the advertised statement, to consumers. This sharpener is absolutely great for the small size! I tested it upon arrival with a variety of pencils. First, colored pencils, number 2 sized writing pencils, then nail white pencils and even eyebrow makeup pencils. I viewed several 'commercial type' sharpeners as well because I prefer what I purchase to offer beyond lasting power, which is difficult to experience in products manufactured in 2020! This product is powerful, efficient, quick, and surprisingly quite, and easy to use. Simply plug the cord provided into your electrical source for the United States, or if you are a art student headed to a class there is also a compartment for the smaller batteries such as AA ones. This choice is definitely one for individuals or in a home or class setting. However getting to the main objective here! This sharpener has plenty of go and will give a minimal to a maximum sharpness, according to how much pressure is applied to the pencil while pusing it downward into the opening. It offers the two sizes that are the most used for the anytime average need! Love this lil go getter! Get the point? Lea B.

This is my third electric pencil sharpener. You just stick a pencil in and gently push down to turn it on. It sharpens it to a very sharp point.Pros:*This makes very sharp point very quickly wether it is a pencil or color pencil. I sharpened all of these of all different brands. It even shapened some that I could never get to sharpen to a point before. I thought it was the pencil but I guess it wasn’t.* I have had no problems with the power cord. I love that you can use it with a battery or cord just in case I can’t find an outlet or I want to save on batteries.Cons:*The shavings container is so small so I have to keep emptying it out.*There is a safety button that has to be pushed down in order for it to work. It is pushed down when you close it by putting the top back on. This is always a pain in the butt to put on because you have to get it to screw on just right or it is won’t turn on.Conclusion:*The is a really great price for a sharpener that doesn’t take up as much room as others I had but sharpens point to a literal needle like end. I kept accidentally stabbed my arm cause I had them pointed up. I don’t like how quickly it fills up or how long it took to get the top on correctly but I got the hang of it eventually. All in all I love this sharpener.

We're at home doing virtual learning like millions of other American families, but we didn't have any good pencil sharpeners. All of our manual ones are terrible. This one does the job and does it well. That's all you can really ask for in an electronic pencil sharpener, right? To sharpen pencils?

sharpens to a very sharp point.I really like this one. i like the helical sharpener as after you sharpen all the wood off of yoiur pencil like when they arrive, they keep a point well. I have used hand sharpeners and was a bit sakiddish as i have asked other people and their response was that it would eat up too much pencil, but it doesn't. also, i haven't had one break since i started using it. I love it.

This is the best electric pencil sharpener for the value I paid. My kids have been using it and it work just perfect. I wouldn't waste more money if i am getting solid product as this one. Has enough capacity, easy to clean and has auto stop. Works with 3 different power source, battery, usb or plug. Highly recommended

The media could not be loaded.  Great packaging, very easy to operate without even looking at instructions. Sleek design that blends in with decor better than some stand alone room scent defuses! The points on the pencils are phenomenal for intricate animal and people portrait drawings. No breakage even on my fussiest wooden pencils! Well worth the money. I’ve purchased well known brands and threw them away because they ate up my pencils. I sincerely hope that this sharpener lasts as good as it performs! Excellent product.

I was sold on this sharpener in the fact that I have 3 choices of recharging it. I can use batteries; usb cable or domestic power point. I do a lot of animal portraits & I need my pencils super sharp. This sharpener does exactly that, very fine & long sharp points. Perfect for my needs.

The helical blades do a great job of sharpening as well as minimise the twisting of the internal material avoiding breakages. Only problem was that it came with an American plugged power supply

I used this product for graphite pencils. I was great for a while but I used it as a second pencil sharpener so it was used that often just on holidays etc. When it was working it was great but I don't feel for the money, the sharpener was value for money
