perfect for hope chest
Perfect for the hope chest I just built. I havent looked yet, but I hope spare keys are available. Be aware that its installation has next to zero tolerance for misalignment. Be careful and take your time to get the measurements perfect!

Good lock
The lock is fine for it's intended use. It is not a full security lock but will keep the chest lid closed. Only gave it 4 stars because it is a special key and only one is supplied.

O.K. for the price. Not much else to choose from.
Fit and finish is poor. Due to its design, the mortising for this lock is quite difficult. It is also difficult to get a tight fit because of the latch design. I suggest using a cushion or bumpers under the lid to take up the slack. Just O.K. for the price.

Good quality
I have used these little locks on several custom projects for myself and for my customerswithout an issue. The lock fits well and is pleasing to the eye.

REally good lock
Really great lock that is durable and easily installed. The flat strike plate and moving parts in the lock body make it better than locks with a post on the strike plate.
