Nice Pump - Do your homework before buying any pump/aerator/hose. Contact a Professional
Nice quiet pump. So far no negative issues. BUT, BE FOREWARNED! Pond aeration and selecting the proper devices is a science and there is little to no information online to help you. First you have to match your aerators to your pump output CFM. Secondly you MUST concern yourself with the hose diameter and length AND the depth you intend to put your aerator/s. If you make a mistake it is your pump that is going to go bad. With this pump and a Matala MDB12 double aerator and 50 feet of Matala 1/2” ID weighted hose I could only set my aerator 5 feet deep, per advice from a pond guy. I wanted it to be at 10’ deep. Good Luck!!!

A good pump but not the best for hot climates -- we made it work though
Firstly -- I don't know what "sheerness" means in the star rating system but we use this as a septic aerator. Super easy to install but within 24 hours it overheated twice. Now -- we plugged it in during a heat wave in Louisiana so even I was at risk for overheating. Apparently the model 100K is better for hot climates as opposed to this model -- 100A. However after contacting the warranty people, I received a phone call (YES! A PHONE CALL!!) from a lovely gentleman who recommended putting the concrete septic pump cover up on bricks to increase air flow and also texted me pictures as to how to increase air flow through the pump housing. I was very happy with their customer service. The pump is a little loud, but it has been working perfectly since we followed his suggestions.

Pump dead in 50 days
Pump died after roughly 50 days of use. It worked good for the 50 days but I came home from work and the pump was very quiet but still running and I looked in my pond and no bubbles were being made, the alarm light was also on.

Overheats and shuts off.
It overheated the first time I used it. Had to buy a timer to give it time to cool down.
