I really love this concept. It’s such a simple idea, but it takes a lot of the guesswork out of planting. For me, this works especially well because it removes the overthinking around spacing and placement. I can just follow the grid and move on, instead of second-guessing everything. There are a few smart design features that stand out: Comes with a measuring/poker stick Slot built into the square to hold the poker stick The stick also has a small built-in scoop on the end Includes removable funnel that snaps into the underside. Everything comes with a large storage bag, which is a nice bonus The design is very well thought out—it honestly feels like something a gardener came up with after dealing with the same frustrations. What I like: Takes the guesswork out of plant spacing Great for staying organized and efficient Especially helpful if you tend to overthink layouts Well-designed and easy to use One suggestion: I would love to see a simple flower seed placement chart included. It’s something I can figure out on my own, but having a quick reference would make this even more user-friendly. Things to keep in mind: It won’t fit every container size Works best in larger beds, garden areas, or appropriately sized pots Overall, this is a really smart tool that makes planting faster, easier, and more enjoyable.

Life Changing! Planted an entire 8’x4’ raised garden bed in 20 minutes using this to plant seeds in a mixed companion plant bed! Seeds have grown perfectly in the square areas - leaving enough room between plants - color-coding so easy - even works for planting started plants - heavy duty frame - easy to take anywhere - chart is super helpful as well as the included planting tool - I’ve now planted more raised beds using this seeding square - will never go back to row gardening - my raised beds are growing in beautifully and will be super easy to harvest - absolutely love this product!

This actually really helped me with spacing for planting corn but the price had me reconsidering the purchase. Well made and easy to use. I will be keeping this for the next season

This spacer helped plotting and seeding my garden much easier and faster than ever before. No more guessing and estimating. It helped maximize the limited real estate in my beds. The included guide was easy to follow and the tools slot right into the spacer. The only thing holding back a 5star was that the lamination on the guide was sub-par. Thankfully, I photo copied it in case the strong winds we get blew it away. After about 30 minutes outside, I took a break to run the original and copy through my laminator.

This tool is so helpful with square-foot gardening. Could I measure the squares myself and poke holes for seeds? Sure and have been doing both for years. But I decided to treat myself to something that makes life a little easier. The Seeding Square is very sturdy and easy to use. The laminated growing chart is a nice bonus and I like the storage bag that is also included. I am very happy with my purchase.

I can't recommend the Seeding Square tool highly enough – it's truly a game-changer! If you're gardening with young children, this tool is an absolute must-have. I've always been a fan of square foot gardening. Recently I have incorporated it into my work as a School Garden Coordinator. I work with seven elementary schools, delivering garden-based lessons and assisting with garden planting and maintenance. Square foot gardening is an excellent technique for maximizing produce yields across all of the uniquely sized school gardens. However, getting young students to accurately plant seeds using rulers has always been a challenge. I've experimented with various methods like twine grids, chopsticks, seed tape, and cardboard templates, but none have provided the accuracy needed. I've often found myself spending countless hours after school replanting seeds to ensure proper spacing and depth. The Seeding Square has been a revelation. It's sturdy, easy to secure in the garden bed, and features color-coded holes that correspond to an easy-to-use guide. Even kindergarteners can easily plant seeds correctly with this tool! This has made my planting so much easier. I am new to “square foot gardening” and this has changed everything. I will always have one.

The Seeding Square was recommended in a gardening group I'm in and since one of my garden goals this year is to start everything from seed, I thought I'd give it a try. I'm glad I did. It's a total game changer! At first glance it doesn't look like it warrants it's price tag, but every element is simply genius and functional. Most simple things are, right? The square itself is 1x1, made of a sturdy, durable plastic and has four finger holes to easily pick it up after you're done seeding. I absolutely love the color-coded planting guide! It's easy to understand, and a real time saver if you struggle with spacing. This is my new favorite garden tool!

Excellent product. I have bought 4 of these seeding square's as I belong to a gardening group, to give confidence to people who want to learn how to grow their own veg. This product takes the guess work out of how deep or at what space should I plant the seeds. I highly recommend these seeding square's for square foot gardening.

As a new gardner this handy tool helped me get it right every time!!!

This is fun! There’s a few tricks to using it (making sure your soil is level, and definitely not damp!) and I know once I’m more experienced at square foot gardening it’ll probably be redundant, but starting in to this gardening technique as a newbie I love the square! It’s easy to use (I was using twine and pegs and a ruler before I found this, what a hassle!) and I actually really love the seed scoop on the end of the depth peg. It’s really satisfying to see the garden come together so quickly, and my seedlings that are coming up look so nicely spaced out that I don’t have to waste many seeds when I thin them out. The colour coded holes are super handy too. Downsides: to be honest I really don’t use the funnel, and you have to develop your own tricks for covering the seed in the holes you’ve punched. (My soil is heavy and doesn’t naturally fill back in over the seeds—my favourite technique so far is taking my conditioned newly mixed soil and dropping it on top of the square while it’s still in the ground and after my seeds have been inserted. I then rub off the dirt to clear the square and it all falls into the garden conveniently covering my seeds.) I’d also suggest a change or examination over their planting guide. Double check your seed packets, and if you combine this with vertical trellises or cages or posts you can actually fit some of those “requires up to 4 sq. Ft” plants into less space. (Shout out to all you city gardeners who want higher yields with the minimal garden space you have!) I’d also recommend relay planting with plants of different maturity rates in the same square.
