How does the scythe pop out?

There is a button on the bottom that will make the scythe pop out.

Can it still hold weight like a real cane?

Absolutely not...definitely for show, looks great but not for any weight bearing.

This is a replica of the game. I opened the one I had to take a look. The blades are are spring loaded and pop out, but it is entirely a plastic replica.
