Expensive, but worth it!
I used 80 of these doing a very large deck. The unusual screw head is a disappointment for finding long drill bits. The brackets themselves are fine, but expensive.I finished deck looks awesome because there are no screws on top or on the sides of the boards either.Mechanically speaking you could run screws in at an angle through your joists, but because these screws are going in sideways into the joist and straight up into the deck board it really is the most mechanically sound way to do this. It will cause you to run twice as many screws (time/effort) but the result is worthwhile!

Worth the money
I built my deck 20 years ago using this system. Cedar deck boards held up really well until recently. I am re-decking and 95% of the original brackets are in great shape. I bought 1 box of brackets to replace the few that were rusted. My deck is 40' x 16', and only about 5 needed replacing. No holes in the top of the deck boards, and no nails or screws sticking up. Great product.

wrong item, bad services
Slow shipping, received finally, but wrong item that was powder-coated instead of galvanized that I ordered. This was not all, 20 of them are not fully coated. After spoke and emailed to ANTOnline, I was directed to manufacturer. the manufacturer directed me back to ANTOnline for more info. Called ANTOnline towice, followed with no action. It has been two months and is too cold to work outside now. It has been my headache.

They work great, and no screw holes on the top of the deck.
They work great, and no screw holes on the top of the deck. Just make sure that you have some room to get under the deck to screw them in.

Works great, looks great, lots of work.
I have built several decks using these fasteners. So I have no idea what kind of issue reviewer 'Jdean' was having with stripping out. I just finished a 500 sq ft deck using 240 brackets, and did not have 1 screw strip out. Reviewer 'F.Wang' had a problem with shipping, and I recommend buying these directly from the manufacturer, and avoiding this issue. Usually arrive in 2 days via UPS, no problem. I figure about 5 extra hours of labor for each 50 sq ft if deck, so a 500 sq ft deck will take about 50 more man hours than the traditional nailing or screwing from the top. I recommend using a small impacter screwdriver, such as the Bosch 12v series rather that a larger drill driver. There are 2500 screws per 100 brackets, so choose your tools wisely. You will find the Deck Devil, available here on Amazon to be a great help.I would have posted my video review here, but is too long for Amazon reviews. You can see the review on u tube. When you get done, you will need a trip to the chiropractor to untwist your back, but the deck will look great.

Not truly representative...
What I ordered was originally lost, but a second attempt arrived. It was not what I thought I was ordering. What was supposed to be galvanized was powder-coated brown. When I sent a request to return the item, I received a timely response, but nothing stated about the misrepresentation of the item being sold. Without being sure I would be reimbursed for shipping "to" and/or "from", I've decided to let it go and try to use the item in my project.

deck, master brackets
I purchased the powder coated version (in the small homeowner size packs from a local lumber yard when I replaced the surface of my deck with 2 x 6 cedar about 6 years ago. I thought they were easy to use (my deck is about 7' above ground) and had no trouble with screws stripping out. I used a small corded drill. With these it is possible to reposition a board, no need to worry about hammer dents from missed nails and no penetration points for water to get into the top of the wood - also no nails popping out . The screws might not be able to self drill if using Ipe or similar hard wood. I thought they were easy to use and would not consider doing a deck any other way
