Presto 50332 Pressure Canner Pressure Regulator

Working great. i both a no brand and it was junk. Spent a little more and got a good one.

This simple little device makes canning accurately about as simple as it can be made. The device is simply a weighted rounded needle shaped thing from under which the steam coming from the vent escapes when it rocks. This rocking motion helps to vent the excess pressure. Therefore you don't need to monitor the pressure on the dial as much.This unit consists of three parts, the needle regulator, and two doughnut shaped chromed weights. The needle equals 5 pounds of pressure, and each weight equals 5 pounds of pressure. For my part of the country, I use one weight on the needle shaped part to give ten pounds of pressure in the canner. The regulator *ticks* quietly as it rocks, so you can hear if it begins to rock faster or slower, you know to adjust the heat, allowing you to read or do dishes your canner is working.The reason I like it so much, is I always worried about whether the dial pressure gauge was accurate or not, and because this is mechanical rather than calibrated, you can use it be sure your dial gauge is still accurate, so you can pressure can with confidence. If the pressure regulator starts rocking, check the dial gauge... it should read 10psi, so now you know how far if at all your dial gauge is out of calibration. Cool.When I didn't own this, I had to sit in the kitchen and watch the pressure gauge and couldn't do anything else while canning; reason: as the stuff you're canning gets hot and sterilized, the less heat is needed to keep it hot or the pressure climbs. I would have to lower the heat every few minutes as the stuff inside the canner got hot. That was really nerve racking. Now it's no worries, just be where you can still hear the *tick*, *tick*, *tick*, and you're good to go.Simple, safe, and easy to use, my kids do the canning too!

For many years I had been using Voipbuster or one of its many different self competing programmes on PC and when I started to look for an Android application it was logical I started with Voipbuster. The Application was quite slick, neat in appearance but was giving me problems in that the contacts books is neatly retrieved from the PC and whilst the PC would dial all the numbers, the phone would not.No matter what I tried I could not make it work. To make matters worse it was an intermittent problem and sometimes it worked and other times it did not. I then started what has been one of the most miserable times in my life attempting to deal with their support who for the majority of time were agog with indifference and spoke to me in a language I did not understand.With some reluctance I decided to look for another app one Friday night. I downloaded and tried 26 voip apps altogether and by Monday morning felt I had discovered what was by far the best. Wicall fell into place and on the first call I made politely enquired which address book I would like to take the numbers from. Having with great daring invested $5 dollars to make a few calls I called the first number. It was crystal clear and every bit as good as the land line phone. I called a few more with the same result and then decided I had probably managed to get hold of the best voip app.There is a space for favourites which I don't think is large enough bearing in mind that most people have two phones - house and mobile which only allow 3 names but as it is hardly any slower to select the contacts book I feel somewhat embarrassed to have mentioned it. I would also mention that its not a Rolls Royce app - more of a utility vehicle but in its ragged way, nonetheless quite attractive and extremely easy to use with little possibility of mistake.I can only speak as I find and others may not be as lucky as I have been but for those who are it will be a long time before they are looking for another voip app.I feel this app can be recommenced safely without reservation so if you are looking for a voip for your phone this is well worth a try.

Not sure why Presto doesn't ship with this cuz they lose money on this for sure having to buy from several other sellers. Great if you have a pressure cooker you need this!! To take the unit apart you just pry it upwards towards the top of the black handle part. You do not need to take the black handle off first. It's really tight on a new unit but once you get it it works great.

If you have the Presto with the regular 15lb weight, this is a game changer!, presto gauges are meant to be calibrated every year, this is not possible in the UK with no extension offices, the weight means that even if you gauge happens to be faulty you will always get a jiggle at the correct pressure, Also much less babysitting trying to keep the gauge at the correct pressure, adjustable to 5lb, 10lb and 15lb it is ideal for the UK which due to elevation requires a 10lb weight, unless you live above 1000ft. The 5lb is good for fruit, reviewed by "Preserving and canning UK" on facebook.

Hab es gegen das normale Gewicht ausgetauscht da man damit denn druck noch besser regulieren kann.

Get this. It will make canning so much better and easier.

Tengo dos ollas de presión Presto. Ambas usan manómetro así que este regulador me va a ayudar a mantener la presión sin estar cuidando el manómetro para envasar conservas.
