A-5s Ballista Illuminated

Very pleased. Simple watch. Easy to see. 45 mm with good reviews was challenging to find. The band takes some wearing to relax. Others appear less satisfied with the night illumination though it is perfect for me. The watch is thick so it will bump tight cuffs.

This is the Bentley of Field Watches!!! It’s more luminous than Luminox. It’s large, not flashy, and the watch band is wide!!

I am a nut about being able to see my watch in the middle of the night. I recently purchase my BertucciA-5s Ballista Illuminated watch and I am finally a happy camper. Anytime, anywhere, in total darkness, this watch shows me the time. Don't listen to naysayers just push the order now button. You won't be disappointed.

03/25/26 Surprisingly high quality watch for the price. I am yet to test it in the field and will update this review once I do so. •The case is very sturdy and well built. I like the screw down crown feature and 200M water resistance. •The dial is clean and crisp with nothing unecessary. •I love the fact that you can adjust the date separately... unlike many other watches. •The movement is fast by ~1 second per day, not bad for a quartz field watch. •I like the large 40mm case and 26mm strap. The NATO strap is good, but I dont like NATO straps so I will be replacing mine with a rubber one. Why 4 stars: Maybe its just my watch (maybe its me LOL), but it appears that the tritium tubes in my watch are dimmer than they should be. If Bertucci sold the A5S Ballista with T100 tubes, I would gladly pay the extra price just to have more brightnes. Once your eyes adjust the darkness of the night, its not too bad. I attached pictures of the watch in multiple light conditions, including red and UV light, and a side by side comparison to my tritium compass which glows extremely brightly. Keep in mind that my cellphone camera will not be showing the true difference in tritium glow between the compass and the watch. Id say the pitch black photo is the closest to reality. Overall: Awesome watch. Very impressive. Could be slightly better. Still a solid choice for the price. Easy 4.5 stars.

Great field watch. Very easy to read whether it's very sunny or in complete darkness or somewhere in the middle. Always easy to read. Very comfortable. Highly recommend. I like watch so much. I bought a couple of other bertucci watch straps

Los good, keeps perfect time, very bright in the dark - they obviously didn't skimp on tritium, although the red 12 o'clock is a little faint. The watch is a little large on a small wrist and the band is a little stiff and bulky yet I changed mine to a more comfortable silicone band and fits and looks great!

This a tank of a watch and fit and finish is great , i will be wearing this watch a lot in my rations of watches .
