pH down
I was kinda tired of using Muriatic Acid and having to be so careful and the fumes. I tried this and it works great. I use the recommended amount on the bag and it gets my pH right within about 45-60min. I love it

Goold Product and good price
The current price is affordable comparable at this price to Liquid acid. My Ph was at or even above 8 and my TA was 140 too. I know even if I bring down the PH I need to get the TA down too (be sure your CYA is no more than 60 ppm or you need to bring it down because it interferes with the testing on TA (higher than it really is per Taylor Technologies), so remove some water and refill if you have to. This is why I use Liquid Chlorine instead of tabs because even if you started the pool with 30-50 CYA as recommened, each tab will add 6ppm CYA too and that adds up quickly causing you to go through higher amounts of Chlorine to do the job. But PH is extremely important on how much effectiveness you get out of your FC, so first PH and then address the chlorine. I have a 10,000 gal play pool and I can't keep FC in the pool, but the first thing I am getting under control is the PH which can be done in 1-2 days with this product. 7 oz of dry acid is suppose to be equal to 1 cup liquid acid. At frst the PH was stubborn to come down the first tretment of 3 cups Chlorox PH down, but each subsequent treatment of 2 cups taking about 5 treatments in 2 half days. It went like this; started at 8 ppm with 3 cups and after was still 8ppm, next treatment started at 8, came down to 7.8 over night it went back to 8, next treatment start at 8 and dropped to 7.6, I didn't stop there because my TA will 100 and my experience tells me it won't hold so I did nothr treatment right away with 22 more cups and wallah ph is 7.2 and TA is now 80 which I'm hoping is low enough to stablize the PN from constantly rising. If not I will treat again (no lower than 7.2 and test TA again and see if 60 is the sweet spot. I have added non chlorine shock and alage 60 too to control any algae blooms and some chlorine too at night only. This has taken two and one half 5 lb bags of Chlorex PH down 93% to accomplish this. I am determined and hope Chlorox doesn't increase their price or I willhave to look at other options. I can't use and won't use muriatic acid.

Hot tub
Amazing product. I had bad calcium build up on my hot tub. After reading how to get rid of it, I purchased this. Within 30 minutes it was all clear!

Harder to find muriatic acid
We have a vinyl 6,000 gallon above ground pool. I prefer muriatic acid to this stuff. It dissolves faster and seems safer to work with, when the right precautions are used. However, this powder works and I would absolutely get it again. The acid is only sold at one store locally and this stuff is seasonally available at walmart and the like.I don't like just pouring directly into our relatively small vinyl pool and waiting on the granules to dissolve. So I pre-dissolve in a bucket of hot water, but I'm not an idiot about it either.1. Get a dedicated bucket. No joke. Don't just rinse out your bucket that had chlorine in it. Search youtube for 'mixing pool chemicals explosion' for some warning videos.2. Run your tap until it's at the hotest water temp. In a 5gal bucket, fill it just under halfway or so.3. Using a kitchen scale and paper plate, measure out the right amount for your pH calculation. If you're going to need more than 1lb, probably break the measurement into smaller amounts and do this a few times.4. Take your hot water bucket outside. Don't do this in the kitchen.5. Slowly pour in the powder with your face and lungs not directly over the top of this omg don't breathe in the powder seriously. If there's a breeze, put yourself upwind and the bucket downwind so you don't get any blown your way.6. Using a stirring stick that hasn't been used for anything else (I used a section of PVC that hadn't been used with chlorine), slowly stir until everything has dissolved.7. Carefully pour into the pool, I pour in a line along the pool.8. I then lower the bucket into the water and fill it about half way, then pour that in again. Repeating a few times to help distribute the acid. Then I make sure the bucket was fully submerged to essentially rinse it.For me, that worked and the level came down to what was expected, matching the measurement on the bag. With Muriatic acid, I do a similar method: fill a bucket with existing pool water, a little under half. Add the acid based on pH calculations. Pour, refill bucket with pool water, pour, etc. Definitely less work.Overall, this works. I like having it on hand when I'm out of muriatic.
