Do they fit in the charging case when attached and can you close the lid

No. You have to remove the hooks to charge the pods in the case and re-attach them when you need them. It sounds a nuisance but it only takes a few seconds - and, with time, you get to know which hook fits which pod!

Do the tips impact the touch controls on the AirPod pros?

With my pair, there has been no problem at all. The fit is fine and doesn’t impact the touch controls.

Can anyone recommend a case or pouch I can use without removing the hooks?

Unfortunately, as I have it, you have to remove the hooks before charging the pods in the standard case. I do not think there is a way of avoiding this, irrespective of the case.

Do they fit the 2 gen airpod pros? 2022?

They fit Gen 1. If the design is the same, they should fit Gen 2 as well.
