Over all it’s an excellent gadget, quality material. Needs some getting used to, lot of parts to clean it will never have the bean to cup machine quality, but dose the job. On the long run you pay less for coffee and reduce the amount of plastic waste you produce.

Works very well for a few months, but then wears out. The silicon cap stops sitting in the metal capsule and starts popping out by itself. You can observe that even without putting the coffee in, just push the cap onto the capsule, and it immediately pushes itself back up over the course of three seconds. After this starts happening, if you attempt to make coffee with that capsule, you will have a terrible diluted cup of coffee and a mess in the kitchen because the clear hot water will be flowing out of the top of the capsule, around the coffee jet in the center, spilling everywhere. And then, when it's time to remove the capsule from the machine, you won't be able to. The popped out silicon cap will not let you pull the plastic holder out, serving as a stopper. You will have to pull it out using rather significant force, during which the silicon cap will bend in half along the diameter and drop the metal disk down (so remove your mug before you do that, or you will have a big final splash). It feels scary, like you are going to damage the machine. After a few repetitions, you will not want to make another attempt. Not worth the price given the actual useful lifetime. It does not seem that there was a point in making it out of metal and charging extra for it.

I bought these after using the more common plastic equivalents and am pretty please with the way they allow me to use my own coffee beans and/or grounds. They are reusable and are much easier to clean out after use. Being made of metal and silicone, they feel like they will last longer than the plastic ones too. Comes with 2 types of straining discs, but not sure why as the one with less holes is too restrictive. The one with more holes works OK, but you have to be careful with your tamping, as too firm and it becomes too much for the machine to cope with. After experimenting a bit with them I find a get a good cup of coffee from them 9 times out of 10. I do think they're expensive for what they are though. I don't regret buying them, and ideally I'd have 1 or 2 more so I can prepare my day's coffee in one go, but they are too pricey to warrant buying extras for that.

Needed a replacement. My previous one has been used at least twice a day for about 3 years. The lid became misshapen so no longer worked but imagine the number of pods I haven't sent to landfill in all that time. An excellent product.

I've been using a pair of plastic reusables for a while and thought it would be nice to buy a more longlife sustainable version. These pods are well built and come with two different filter types. This is where my good review ends. To get coffee to work in the Dolce Gusto you should be looking at anything equal to or above a stove grind (Moka). So, two small scoops of coffee into this pod, together with the Moka filter should be ok. But it isn't. The coffee extraction out of the pod is slow and sprays everywhere, then the seal breaks and water flows out of the lid. I experimented with the supplied espresso filter and this extracts correctly. For the price I expected a bit of a better extraction, but this just tastes the same as the plastic reusable pod.

Work well, just need to make sure to read/look at video instruction. Important to select filter to go in bottom, check if you’re using espresso or filter blend of coffee. Not found a problem lining up hole with DG piccolo - will feel more resistance when close lid on machine as it need to pass through a thicker layer than the foil on throw away pods, easy to clean. Although pricey Much better than all the plastic waste from throw away pods, should recover cost fairly quickly. Good quality product, Have still given 5* for value for money as would hate to see quality go down.

I thought I was doing the right thing getting these refillable pods but I found them to be more bother than they are worth. When putting the pod into the machine you have to line the arow onthesilicone lid at the 6 o clock position so that the nozzle ca. I set the hot water into the pod. It when I inserted the pod into my coffee machine the lid always turned slightly, my machine made a funny noise and no coffee came out. Also, the silicone lid often got stuck inside the machine.

I'm not usually overly concerned about my plastic wasted, but something about the pods for this machine really wound me up, almost to the point of drinking less coffee because of how much plastic I was throwing away! This reusable is great quality, looks great, and functions perfectly. I was worried about leaks or a coffee geyser in the kitchen after some reviews, but have had no problems. We initially used kitchen scales to gauge how much coffee we should be putting in, and the only time I have had the silicone lid lift slightly off or not sit properly, is if I have overfilled the coffee. Glad we bought the double pack, as cleaning it between coffees would be a pain, as the suction holding the lid on is pretty strong immediately after making a coffee, but let it sit for a while and you don't feel as though you are damaging the silicone when removing it for cleaning. It's great to be able to try lots of coffee options, and will definitely pay itself off in very little time, in fact it probably already has!

Aspetti positivi: buona compatibilità con la macchina Dolce Gusto, materiali solidi e facili da lavare, scelta apprezzabile per chi vuole ridurre gli sprechi. La presenza di due capsule nella confezione è comoda per alternare l’uso. Limiti da considerare: richiedono un minimo di pratica iniziale per trovare la giusta quantità e pressatura del caffè; non sono immediate come le capsule originali e il risultato può variare in base alla miscela utilizzata. Nel complesso una soluzione valida per chi cerca un’alternativa riutilizzabile alle capsule tradizionali, consigliata a chi è disposto a dedicare qualche minuto in più alla preparazione del caffè in cambio di minori rifiuti.

Ik was een beetje sceptisch vantevoren maar achteraf gezien was dat nergens voor nodig. Deze hervulbare koffie capsules werken prima in mijn mini me. Ik gebruik gewone snelfiltermaling en dat geeft een heerlijk bakkie! Wel spettert de machine erg maar als je het glas tijdens het zetten tegen de kop van de machine aanhoudt is dat geen probleem. Wel even erbij blijven dus!

Alright, I think this product deserves a fair, fresh review. tldr: using it daily since a couple of months and I love it. Bear in mind: it's not for a quick shot, it takes some time to make coffee with it and some careful trial-and-error. I'm a coffee geek and I bought these capsules because I'm not ready to invest in a full-featured espresso machince, but I happened to have Dolce Gusto Genio S Plus. I've got a manual grinder, a kitchen scale and some light-medium roast speciality coffee beans. Having a scale is critical: for example 8.4g might work fine, but 9.5g won't, and it's quite impossible to measure it by eye. It took a few rounds of experimenting with grinding, amount, tamping force, filters before I found a combo that works for me. I kinda even enjoyed all the different things I can tune. I didn't get troubles other people had: no spills, no metal bends, no explosions, no silicon deformation. I think you just really need to be careful & gentle. My config: 8.4g, filter with more holes, very gentle tamping, "espresso" button on Dolce Gusto, water amount set at 3. I don't think you gonna reach the proper espresso level with any config here, I find the coffee is underextracted because the machine cannot really build the required pressure. I'm personally totally ok with it, I like the coffee taste on the fruity side, and that capsule very much fulfills it's purpose for the price.

Si no quieres estar generando residuos plástico pero tener la comodidad de las máquinas Dolce Gusto está es tu cápsula... o no... Trae 2 filtros por cápsula, el de menos agujeros no me ha servido para el café molido que se vende comercialmente, Bonka, Fortaleza, Saimaza, Candelas etc porque el café sale proyectado en todas direcciones y se nota que fuerza la silicona... asi que hay que usar con esos cafés el filtro con más agujeros. La cantidad que echo es una medida de un cacito que tenía por casa, no la prenso demasiado... son 5 gramos de café. Hay que destacar que con 10 gramos hago un café en una italiana de 6 tazas (300 ml) que sale más negro que las 2 tazas (unos 100 ml) que saco de los 10 gramos con estas cápsulas... y además en la italiana sale más caliente.. mucho más caliente. Tienes que limpiar las cápsulas entre cafés, claro, y como me gusta tomar 2 al final me he comprado 2 cápsulas para tomar mis 2 cafés... templados y claritos. Y puede parecer que estoy siendo irónico cuando le doy 5 estrellas, pero no es así, en realidad me da mucha más pereza hacer el café en la italiana y no iba a tomar más de 2 cafés, asi que, siendo consciente de que no se aprovecha igual el café, lo hago en esta máquina. En realidad si te gusta el café cargado y caliente probablemente la Dolce Gusto no sea tu máquina de café y el problema no está en las cápsulas. Cuando voy a comprar algo suelo mirar las opiniones y las opiniones negativas a veces te hacen desistir de la compra por eso quería darle 5 estrellas porque la cápsula te va a funcionar si la usas correctamente. Alguno dice que le salen posos en el café, será que no puso el filtro correctamente o que le dió la vuelta a la cápsula, en esta cápsula el filtro no va fijo, asi que prensado el café tiene que ir a la cafetera sin movimientos bruscos ni darle la vuelta. Alguno dice que desparrama el café por todas partes, problema de cantidad de café, presión del café o estar usando el filtro incorrecto para el café que pones. En resumen, esta cápsula funciona correctamente.
