Not for most homeowners with 8-foot ceilings--but otherwise a decent product if you don't mind a few mechanical issues
This ceiling mount is made of sturdy materials, but has some weaknesses--one of which is the description that specifies incorrect dimensions. The actual height of the item from the upper mounting plate to the bottom of the projector mounts is approximately 14 inches--which if you have an 8 foot ceiling, mounts your projector far too low, and in the way of traffic in your room.I felt the mount would have done a fair job for its intended purpose if your home theater has a nine or ten-foot ceiling; however many homes have a normal height of not much more than eight feet. There should have been a warning that this mount will not be desirable for eight-foot ceilings, since the projector could easily interfere with foot traffic in a home, unless it is mounted close to a wall or above furniture. While I appreciate the sturdy construction, several of the movable pivot-points are secured only with brads that are both imprecise and rather loose, which makes them difficult to set and maintain careful positioning for your projector. If these were more sturdy and had closer tolerances, the projector mount would be just about perfect (other than the height issue).I should add: If you leave out the adjustable extension arm--not just the extendable part, but the entire arm--and use the ceiling bracket only with the attachment bracket that connects to the projector, you will have a mount of around 5 inches from the bottom of the projector to the ceiling. For some installations this would be fine--but for our projector we required 9" to 10" from ceiling to the center of the projector lens to have a good view-able image height. There was no way to get that height with this mount system while hanging the projector so low people could bump into it. Also if your projector is smaller than normal (ours is) the wide claw hardware for securing the projector to the mount is too large and awkward, with inadequate mounting pieces to attach a physically small projector like ours (LG PF1500).Conclusion: "Almost there" for some rooms if the hardware issues are resolved, as long as your room has a higher ceiling.

Simple to put together. Worked great with my benq mx522 projector. I mounted this in my Sheetrock ceiling and it's solid. Would buy again.
