No more headaches. Already bought a second! UPDATED - How to save the heavy lumpy mess it turns in to.
Loved it enough to buy a second one. I purchased for myself based on reviews. I tried the My Pillow and found to too high and almost lumpy. Not the case here. This one works great. Not flat by any means, but you can manipulate it to be - or - you can puff it up. I have tried everything out there and this really seems to be a keeper. I love that I can wash it and dry it. I was out of town and my husband and daughter both used it. They each want their own now! It is HEAVIER than a regular pillow, but sleeps like a dream. No more headaches! UPDATE - I really loved this pillow initially - but after a few months - it turned to a lumpy brick. After a lot of trial and error - I found the solution. Several times a week, put the pillow (s) (no cases) in the dryer on MEDIUM heat for at least 2 full cycles. It then goes back to the pillow you knew and loved. This is a pain, but it does save the pillow - and your neck. Not sure if the bamboo absorbs moisture or what turns it into a messy lump, but the use of the dryer does really bring it back. Also - when you wash (I wash mine about once a month), run it through the dryer AT LEAST 3 full cycles - usually 4. This really draws out all the moisture and keeps it malleable. So still a great pillow - but a crazy amount of maintenance.

Surprisingly comfy!
This pillow is surprisingly comfortable! I have spent far too many years with squishy down pillows that feel great, but leave my neck screaming in pain. Finally, I am trying something new and am happily surprised. I've tried and hated memory foam (too rigid); rice pillows (too lumpy and noisy); and all sorts of weird contoured pillows (too inflexible for someone who likes to change sleep positions). One week in using this Xtreme pillow and my neck pain isn't cured, but has definitely dissipated. My sleep is much deeper than before and I wake up more rested. I am both a side and stomach sleeper, occasionally with my arm under the pillow, and it works in all positions. Very happy with the product so far! Update: No longer pleased with pillow. Feels too thin, and my neck pain is back. Bummed.

Wonderfully Comfortable
This is a remarkably comfortable pillow. The shredded nature of the filling allows you to mold the pillow a bit, which makes all the difference. I can sleep on my side easily, and fluff the pillow so it supports my neck while having a dip for my head -- perfect. It has just about the right amount of filling, so it's not too high, but still has lots of padding. I can't tell yet if it will compress over time, but memory foam tends to be pretty resilient, so I doubt it will (my mattress cover is memory foam, and years later it's still just fine). The cover, or case, is very soft, cool, and flexible. It's comfy as can be. The entire pillow is machine washable, and dryer safe (manufacturer recommends washing every 3 months, or more often if you have allergies). You can use a pillow case on it, but that kind of defeats the purpose of the soft exterior. I tried putting it in a standard pillowcase and it ruined the flexibility -- it was too restricted in there. A large pillowcase would be a good idea, if you plan to use a case. I think I will just wash mine, every few weeks or if it looks dirty or starts to smell. Speaking of smell, the pillow is nearly odor-free. If I bury my nose in it, I can detect a very slight rubbery smell, but it's not noticeable in use (and my pillow is still new). I've tried a lot of pillows, but this is the first one that actually satisfies me. I recommend it highly.

Good but has a real drawback (for at least me)
Bought this pillow after looking at many pillows on Amazon and after trying several from my local stores. Overall, it is a comfortable pillow. For example, the pillow cradles my head so well that I find I don't wake up as much during the night and find myself in the morning in the same position that I started at night. However, I do not like how the pillow quickly gets clumpy and lumpy after about two days use. The pillow requires hard fluffing every day for it to be fully effective. The manufacturer says to put it in the dryer to puff it up and that works, but, I don't think I should have to put a pillow in the dryer every couple of days to return it to fully capacity. I bought the pillow as the test person in our house. I decided I can not recommend it for my wife. I will try another product and look for one that does not need for it to be put in the dryer every couple of days. That is just ridiculous.

Insanely Overpriced And Won't Last The Year
Updates First. As always. I have to update my review on two grounds. First, I washed my pillow and, though it is supposed to be washable, the memory fiber or shredded memory foam really hasn't bounced back the way my other shredded memory foam pillows bounced back after washing. To be clear, I am gentle on pillows, don't turn or shift much while sleeping, use an allergy pillow case and regular pillow case to protect the pillow and only washed it because the dust mite/allergy cover zipper had broken and the pillow was making me sneeze so I bought a new cover and washed the pillow which was a terrible mistake. Second, they've upped the price to $41. That is just insane, considering what you get. I'm sorry but this just isn't worth it for the short lifespan of the pillow. The original price of $30 was a bit steep, considering all the options available and the brands that offer two for one deals, but $41 is highway robbery. If you value products being sold by companies with a conscience, you shouldn't support this company by telling them that they can get away with charging so much for a product that doesn't even last a year. Original Review: I've owned this pillow for nearly a year and used it for a full six months before reaching these conclusions. First, allow me to say that this is an excellent pillow for comfort, under specific conditions. However, if those conditions are not met, it lacks in specific and important ways. This pillow uses a similar style of bamboo cover to many shredded memory foam and memory fiber (same thing, different name) pillows. The cover is 100% bamboo, like everyone else's, and is perforated, they say for cooling. In actuality, the perforation does not cool the pillow as compared to unperforated bamboo covered pillows, all of which stay relatively cool due simply to the weave and texture of a bamboo cover and the nature of air flow through shredded memory foam/ memory fiber. And so, the perforation is unimportant for cooling and this pillow is much like other pillows in sleeping temperature owing to similar materials and construction. That having been said, the perforation of this (and several similar pillows) does actually make fluffing this pillow (and the similar ones I've tried) much easier than fluffing the closed-weave bamboo covered pillows on the market. Of course, this is only important when you consider the following, namely, that this pillow is not resistant to dust mites and allergens, as it claims to be, not in the least. In order to be hypoallergenic or even to just resist, not stop fully, dust mite activity, a cover must be so tightly woven (I won't bore you with micron counts) that it actually makes fluffing a pillow very difficult, as the air inside the pillow is pressed out by the pressure of you sleeping on it but new air flows back in very slowly, over time. and is difficult to restore even with fluffing. This pillow is, to clarify, directly advertised and labeled as being, of all things, "hypoallergenic" and "dust mite resistant", when it is, in truth, neither. However, a pillow that is both of those things (and I've tried several) is impossible to fluff. Because this pillow is perforated and fails utterly in allergy control, it is also, owing to that perforation, highly fluffable (fluffs in mere moments). So, you can cover it in the allergy barrier of your choice and then follow the protocol of unzipping the allergy cover for a moment, fluffing and then zipping it back up, to great results. So, essentially, this pillow gets five stars for fluffing and zero stars for allergy claims. Next, there is the issue of fill. This pillow uses similar fill to several others that I have tried ranging in price from just over $15 to $30 and this one is by far the most expensive at nearly $40. Any pillow can be opened up on the end, to sew on a zipper, so as to make the fill level adjustable, which I've done with several other pillows and I can say, having done that, that this pillow is obscenely over priced. Yes, the fill is high quality. So is most of the memory fiber/ shredded memory foam I've found in pillows. Also yes, the slip style is better for certain types of sleepers. But, anyone can adjust the fill level of any memory fiber/ shredded memory foam pillow to whatever level they want. So, what is the overall justification of the two star review? It is simply not worth the price. They lose a star for false claims of being hypoallergenic and dust mite resistant, but they lose one more for using a cover that is identical to covers on cheaper pillows and still one more for using fill that is identical to cheaper pillows, essentially, selling the same product for far more money. You can get a high quality shredded memory foam or memory fiber pillow, call it what you will, with a perforated 100% bamboo cover from multiple vendors, cut on one end, unstitch, leaving thread ends attached for sealing off/ tying off so that the pillow stitching doesn't unravel, sew in a zipper that meets up with your sealed/ tied off thread ends, and then adjust the fill to your liking and achieve exactly the same result as you get with the slim pillow from Xtreme Comforts without paying the Xtreme price (I couldn't resist). This is, in short, a rich person's pillow. It costs more for the sake of costing more. It is not better and, ultimately, is not worth it given how much less you can pay for a nearly identical product. On the one hand, I love this pillow. On the other, I love the ones I've adjusted to essentially match it in every way, just as much only it didn't cost me as much as a Smog Check. The price is simply far more than it is worth. Good luck in making your choice and finding what you need.

I had really bad neck and shoulder pain
It has been about two weeks since I've had this pillow. When I first got it, I had really bad neck and shoulder pain. After about a week the pain went away and haven't had it since. Well I take that back, I had a little bit over the weekend, but that was mainly because I didn't sleep right for a night. When I was looking around for a good pillow for a decent price, three came on the list and this was one of them. I took careful consideration of this one as I bought a different kind of shredded memory foam pillow and it didn't work for me. So I took the chance again and it was the best decision I have ever made. When I first got it and opened it, it was weird seeing it completely flat and rolled up in the box. After reading the instructions and following them, it came to "life". I let it air out for awhile and I also put it in the dryer for 20 mins. to get rid of the smell. The smell wasn't so great, but since I always keep my pillows in a pillow case, it didn't bother me that much. I am mainly a side sleeper, but I do tend to roll on my back during the night sometimes and the support is still there even after sleeping on either side. Every night I like to fluff the pillow up mainly for the extra softness, but also because I do rollover a lot so the stuffing goes a little more to the sides. All in all, this is a great pillow especially if you get neck pains.

Pleasantly surprised and very impressed
Like many of you (I suspect), I found this pillow through the SweetHome review. I was skeptical, and assumed the pillow would be - for lack of a better term - "weird". Well, color me impressed. I'm super fussy and picky about my pillows, and tend to go through more pillows in a year than some people bother with in a decade. I don't have any specific ailments or medical conditions that drive this, just a general desire for something resilient and comfy. My version of comfy is three things: -must be soft and pliable, but supportive; -must stay relatively cool; -must not be so lofty and buoyant that a stomach sleeper like me ends up with their head cocked at a near-vertical angle. The biggest worries I had about this pillow were whether it would be soft enough, and whether it would be boiling hot. So I bought one as a trial pillow to use on a probationary basis. I gave it a few weeks to put it through its paces before ordering a second one, and now I've been recommending it left and right. The filling is softer and more plush than I expected, which is great - yet at the same time it molds and contours well, and "stays put" much, MUCH better than polyfill or down. I find I spend much less time rearranging and smooshing my pillow around once I've gone to sleep. It also stays waaaaaaaaaaay cooler than I hoped. I have never felt overheated or thought the pillow was too warm for my tastes. In fact, I'd say it even seems to transfer heat throughout the pillow less than other fill styles - meaning the flip side or the opposite edge stays cooler, longer. While even the slim pillow is pretty lofty, the filling is so easy to mush around as you need that I've never found it overly stuffed for my needs. Other perks: it fluffs back up so easily, and the cover is beautifully soft. Cons? Not many, and they're nitpicky. It is kinda heavy, for whatever that matters. And the sizes seem to be a bit on the tiny end of things: I ordered the queen size pillows and they fit a standard-sized pillowcase pretty well. I think the standard size pillows would have been too small. I'm a fan. Try one out!

The negative reviews were correct...
It might be a very comfy pillow, I hope to find out in time, it feels possible it might fit me ok. For now, as others have said, the odor is profound and actually permeates the whole house (I am sensitive). The pillows will be out in the garage for awhile "breathing", and we'll see how that goes. Tumbling them in the dryer did not make a dent in the aroma. Also, as others have said, there is no zipper. They are not adjustable as advertised without cutting the pillow open. It is not possible to "customize your comfort", you cannot "stuff what's right for you", you cannot "add or remove foam for custom support." None of these things can be done without cutting open the pillow. For the same reason there is no way to see if there's actually a zippered liner pillow underneath the "bamboo" cover as one photo shows. If I get to the point where the odor reduces, and I can sleep on them, I will update this to reflect my opinions at that point. I've owned memory foam mattresses, toppers and other pillows that have had slight odors that have aired out, but these are intense.

Too thick
Purchased this as I need a slim pillow and it is advertised as such. It is in fact thicker than the "full" pillows my wife uses. I tried it out nevertheless ,but woke up after 3 hours with a sore neck. Fortunately my wife is able to cut it open, remove about 50% of the filling and seal it by inserting a zip. Not done yet, but hopefully this will resolve it.

Litterally chunky memory foam bits in a bag
This is not worth $100. The pillowcase is nice and soft but the pillow itself is sooo lumpy. There's big bits of foam and also hard plastic in there, I don't see how it's supposed to be comfortable. It doesn't hold its shape and offers no support for the neck and head.

Comfortable, but too bulky.
No zipper! I have a recent shoulder injury and am now a dedicated back sleeper. The slim version of this pillow is still too full for FT back sleeps and mine came with no zipper, so I can't reduce the loft. That said, my husband now loves this pillow and we also use it on the couch and find it delightful.

Not that great for stomach sleepers
I bought this rather expensive pillow based on a recommendation from the web ("the best pillow for stomach sleepers" or something like that). I find that I wake up with a plugged nose and sort neck fairly often with this pillow. It's quite firm and although it molds around you, it just doesn't work well for me when I sleep on my stomach. I think I was expecting something a bit less heavy duty. I do thinks it's comfortable for resting or reading which I why I'm keeping it but for sleeping, I'll stick with the $5 pillow I purchased at the grocery store.

Great.
Comfy, huge, and not resizeable. The smell goes away after a few days.
