Improved my weather radio reception
I'm using this with a Midland WR-400 weather radio indoors and it has made a dramatic improvement over the built-in telescoping antenna. Plugs in directly to the external antenna RCA style plug on the WR-400 and instantly improved reception for me, based on where I have it placed in my home. Prior to using this antenna, I struggled to receive the local weather channel, and after, the reception is way better with minimal static (still some static but the broadcasts are pretty clear and it may be my radio). The base is small on the antenna, but it is magnetic so will stick to metal surfaces with no additional mounting. I'm pleased with the performance of this antenna and think it is worth the investment if you have marginal indoor weather channel reception.

Good for NOAA weather and FM too.
My old Radio Shack weather radio finally went on the blink. so I got a Sangean CL-100, which gets the job done. However my reception indoors on weather was a bit staticky and could even fade in and out. Setting this antenna in the window did the trick, and also helped FM reception. The built-in antenna was in the way anyhow, and I got to put that away. I put together a magnetic base for the ANT-100 out of a small steel box, which I filled with nails for weight. The antenna is light and probably easy to break if it's in an unprotected spot, but it just sits in the window out of the way. Notice that a lot of weather radios sold today lack the SAME weather alert capability. Sure, you can listen to the weather station on them, but will they sound an alarm when there's a watch or warning for your county? Here in tornado alley, that's important.

Warning don't buy this product
I bought this antenna since the radio I was purchasing Sangean WR-11SE AM/FM Table Top Radio 40th anniversary edition did not come with one and this antenna was recommend it. I have been using the radio with no antenna in my cubicle and works great, when I move to another cubicle in the ground floor I remember that I have purchase Sangean ANT-100 External Antenna. I look for it and when I try to plug it into the radio it broke. It has been months since the purchase so I know it has pass the time for return to amazon. I will not recommend to purchase the antenna. The radios is great to bad that I cannot use it since I do not get reception. I called the company the gentleman I spoke was sympathetic but since it has been a while that I purchase the antenna at this point nothing can be done. I am really disappointed with both amazon and sangean since return policy is too short!

Greatly improved reception.
I live on the west side of Norman Oklahoma and should have great weather radio reception. I use a Midland WR400 weather radio. However the NOAA people have been adjusting transmitters and my signal dropped off greatly. This is the second Sangean ANT-100 I've owned. As long as it holds together, it is a great antenna and nearly doubled my received signal strength. However, as I said, this is the second of these antennas that I've owned. The first lasted only a couple of months and came apart. The wire connections and couplings should be treated as FRAGILE … just be careful where you place this. ALSO, the advertising is sketchy or deceptive. The cable length is NOT 12 ft as some of the reference material on the shopping page suggests. It is really closer to 5 or 6 feet. This is a magnetic antenna that works best with a metal ground plane. I used a steel gun lock box that is beside my bed and works perfectly as a solution.

GREAT PRODUCT
I liked the short time it took to receive my order. I am using it for the weather here in Louisiana. When I got my Radio in the paperwork was a form to buy a External Antenna which I did. That was on 2-20-2025. Have not received as of today 3-19-25. Call California on 3-7-25 an was told they had received my check a would put it at the front of the line. Have not seen or heard nothing. SCAMED.

Final Report: It's junk.
After using this antenna for almost 5 months on a Midland weather radio I finally discovered that this thing does not work. First of all, a common problem with these antennas is the wire falling out of the base, mine did not do that when I got it. After sitting outside for 2 months I was inspecting my roof top weather setup and had to move the antenna, the entire wire just dropped out without even touching it. I ended up buying a new one, after 5 months I thought it was working fine. Well I would soon learn otherwise. The noaa transmitter near me had to be relocated so I ended up switching to a alternative station. What I discovered was the ant-100 did literally nothing. Even though it was high up and nothing in it's way. The main whip antenna on my Midland worked better then this thing. Makes me wonder if all this time my whip antenna was the thing really picking up the signals.Quick note that wire falling out problem? Yep same thing happened on the second antenna.
