Good Remote
Bought this to replace a Black Web universal remote, which was so old the words/symbols on most of the buttons were worn off, but was still functional and worked well with my tv and DVD player. But the BW finally died and I bought this remote which I had on my Amazon list to eventually replace my BW because I couldn’t find another BW remote in my Amazon and other retailer searches.. This remote was easy to set up for each of my devices and allowed me access to all the functions and menus on each device, when the correct code was used. All the codes I tried worked to turn my tv on/off but some did not work the menu button to allow me access to my tv menu. I had to try five or six codes before I found the one that allowed this remote to work like the remote that came with my tv. Since this remote doesn’t have some of the buttons the remote that came with my tv have, I had to try different buttons to find the ones that serves the same function as those missing buttons. The only drawback is it’s not backlit, but I’m not going to take away a star because I failed to realize that until after I’d ordered it. 🤷🏽♀️

My in laws needed a universal remote and I programmed it for them quickly with no problems. The setup was very fast and it is a great value for the price!

Great color and size
Lightweight and worked great. I thought it had a sleep button because my TV wont "Sleep" without the button (its not in the menu). I love the color and size. Wish I could have used it! Returned.

Works with my Yamaha receiver that has "System Power" and "Standby" on remote
Top Tip:If your Yamaha receiver that has "System Power" and "Standby" on the remote, try the Channel + (Channel Up) button on the remote to turn on the receiver, the "System Power" equivalent.Review:I have a Yamaha RX-V1400 audio receiver and I needed to replace the remote since it stopped working. I looked into replacing the exact same remote and it was over $100 so I just needed a basic one to turn on/off and volume control. At first I thought this doesn't work with my receiver because I tried every listed code for Yamaha and it failed to turn on the receiver. I ended up using the Auto Code Search (which starts with the receiver turned on) and it found the code - which was one of the ones listed. The tricky thing was, to turn on the receiver, you have to use the Channel + (channel up) button on the remote to turn on the receiver. To turn off the receiver, you use the Power button on the remote. This is because the Yamaha receiver has a separate button for "System Power" ("Channel +" on this remote) and "Standby" ("Power" on this remote).I was already happy to find a cheap replacement for my Yamaha receiver but I bought the 4-device version and decided to enter the codes for my Vizio TV (2020 P Series) and Verizon One FiOS STB and it has worked with the functions I care about. As an added bonus the Vizio TV remote, which uses SmartCast for its smart apps, also controls my Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K . This isn't a feature of this remote, per se, but I'm happy to see that the TV controls on this remote also works on the Fire TV Stick.I never intended this to be the one remote to control them all, but now I am testing it as such. Maybe I will update the review after using it for a while.

Adequate for the price
I wanted to narrow down the number of remotes we use. We primarily stream through a Roku, and have things set up so waking up the Roku, powers up the TV, so I wasn't demanding too much from a universal remote. This remote programs easily enough and does the job, but:- Buttons are mushy, i.e. you have to solidly push the buttons to get a response.- The remote has a narrow range, you have to make sure that you are pointing the remote very directly at the target device.- The range of the remote is very limited. The range is almost exactly 12 feet. If I am sitting at my desk, I have to lean forward to get it to work, so I have a pretty precise range.Unfortunately, choices in universal remotes seem to be either $150+ for a complicated to use device, or $10 for one like this.
