Spec101 Acrylic Cake Disc, 6.25 Inch 2 Pack - Round Acrylic Cake Disc Set, Acrylic Disk for Cake Decorating, 1/8in Thick

This was exactly as described, thus the 5 start review. I converted the 8.5 in clear cake disc to a "frosted" light diffuser using 320 grit sand paper on an orbital sander. It worked so well I ordered another set. (I was not able to find what I wanted elsewhere, and the cake disc is the same acrylic used in other light diffusers.)

Mine arrived today and should work great. For others saying theirs are blue, did you remove the blue film from both sides of the discs? Mine are clear acrylic discs, no chips!

Great functionality. No chips or bumps. They work perfectly.I took one star off because they were blue instead of clear so it's a little harder to see the pallet knife underneath when removing the disc.For those already wondering, YES I removed the film from the disc. The film is super dark blue and, when peeled off, the disc is a medium blue all the way through.

I used these for getting flat frosting tops on cupcakes: mound of frosting, layer of parchment paper, push down with one of these discs. Good, flat background for a web and spider! Exactly what I wanted.

Mine did not have the blue film (or any film) that others mentioned. On opening I was hit by the awful smell. I thought maybe they needed to off gas after being in their package, but even after a day they still reek. There’s no way I’m putting something that smells like this anywhere near food, especially if there’s a chance the smell could be absorbed by the cake. For size they are slightly larger than an 8” pan, enough to frost a thin layer but I think if you want grooves or a pattern that sets into the frosting on the side of the cake you’ll need something a bit bigger. Quality itself seems good, not flimsy.

I like that this acrylic disc helps me to get perfect edges and top. It helps me to get a smoother finish

I love the disc, for the first time my cake came out perfect! I will be buying more sizes.

In my opinion I would always go to the 6.25. Anything more would have been way too much frosting.

Got them to help my wife do her side of her cake had a hard time with thickness but after using these she had a perfect side.

Advertised as clear. They are blue.
