I Just Ate My Friend

Funny!
I worried my 4-year-old might be afraid of the story he almost didn't make it through to the end but he really enjoyed it and we read it again. Love the author's humor. Simply a new favorite.

My toddlers are obsessed!
My older kids think this book is funny, but my toddlers have pulled it off the shelf again and again and again. Worth every penny.

Funny, a little surprising
Super fun read aloud. Quick, but it takes those little guys through a roller coaster of emotions. I got it out of the library and my class (PK4) loved it so much I decided to buy a copy. After the first time I read it the kids were "reading" it on their own (they could remember the response on each page). They request it again and again. It's a fantastic metaphor for the ways we are sometimes carelessly hurt people and it can cause us to lose ones we love. The kids don't get that, but they do.

Funny story!
My 4 year old cracked up over the book. I like that it’s brief. I can get through it quickly before bed time. And I enjoyed the minimalist but saturated colors. My daughter said it was hilarious and that it “must have some awards.” (She’s aware of book awards because I wrote Pickles Pinkerton and teach her about publishing, awards, etc). Overall, a fun and not overly preachy book.

Instant Favorite
Cute, simple, and little ones can “read” it to you after one time because it’s easy to memorize and they love the story.

We love this book! I wish I got this as a hardcover book because we read it all the time. It's so funny, and the illustrations are really cute. I'm excited to read more by this author.

A Story of Toxic Friendship
In this wonderfully and twisted story, a monster begins by telling the reader I JUST ATE MY FRIEND. Now he is lonely and doesn't know what to do. He asks all kinds of creatures if they will be his friend. However, he can't seem to find one that will be his friend. Near the end of the book, the monster has a bit of self-realization. I really enjoyed I JUST ATE MY FRIEND. I found it quite humorous.

Hunger, Humor and…wait, I ate my friend!
Small people were giggling, especially at the end. It’s a terrible thing to be friendless but this book showed the silly side of it. The kids loved it!

My favourite book ever
My favourite book (not even just my kid's) and I've spent 38 years reading (minus a few for the newborn months). It's absolutely hilarious. You and your child, whatever age, will LOVE IT.

Muy gracioso
Tiene texto muy sencillo, pero resulta muy gracioso.A algunos niños igual les puede dar un poco de miedo, pero las mías se morían de risa.
