So great to find a 0
So great to find a 0.5% solution (hard to find locally). Not as thrilled with the rest of it - seems to be similar to KY jelly.I prefer the creamy sort (which I can only find in 1% solution, locally)The search continues.

Used this for my son after he was born and what I like most about it is that it's not to harsh. The .5% is sensitive on the skin.

Perfect for baby eczema... and grown ups too!
We use this on our baby's eczema flare ups, along with aquaphor as daily moisturizer and preventative. It all works very well. Put it on in the evening and then put him in footie pjs to allow him to absorb it (and keep him from being a slippery fish). Why we love it:- .5% strength hydrocortisone (effective with lowest risk)- Ointment base. Forget those lotions and creams. Ointments are *far* more effective at retaining moisture. If eczema is bad enough to require steroids then you should really be using something more than a cream or lotion anyway.- Easily blend this product with other ointments like aquaphor or vaseline. We use aquaphor and it can go right on top or adjacent to trouble areas. On the other hand, the lotion base hydrocortisone gets mixed in weird and slides everywhere.- Quality packaging. Comes in stiff metal tube that you puncture. Pharmacy grade. As always, consult your pediatrician.I have been known to use this for my own eczema from time to time as well... and it works for me!

Great for eczema & bugbites
Love this stuff! I originally got it because I was having an eczema breakout in my armpits (awful, I know). It did a great job helping with itching and, because it's got a petroleum jelly base, helped keep the skin from drying out more. I was specifically looking for the 0.5% formula because I recently learned (from an actual dermatologist) that the 1% formula is much stronger than is necessary, and can cause negative side effects. Unfortunately, it's incredibly hard to find the 0.5% in America. Luckily, there's Amazon! My armpit eczema breakout cleared up after a month or so, and I've since found this ointment works great on mosquito bites & other temporary itchy rashes. It is petroleum jelly based, so it will leave a residue on your skin that can get on clothes and furniture, but just be mindful not to goop it on or cover it with a bandaid and it's fine.

Pediatrician recommended 0. 5% hydrocortisone for 3 week old infant's ...
Pediatrician recommended 0.5% hydrocortisone for 3 week old infant's "excessive newborn rash," as the pediatrician called it. I was unable to find locally. Note, this is an ointment which I didn't notice until I tried to put it on my baby. That wouldn't have been a problem if the rash was just in one area (like his face), but since it was all over and I didn't particularly care for a shiny, sticky baby, I mixed it with his normal body lotion before rubbing it all over. Worked like a charm and his rash nearly resolved in 2-3 days. Please let me know if you found this review helpful and feel free to comment if you have any questions!

Beware of buying this from AmericanWholesale
I purchased this via the 3rd-party reseller "AmericanWholesale" but received "Maxiumum Strength: 1.0%"; like the other reviewer, I was looking for a less potent mixture than the 1.0% found everywhere (and cheaper). The other reviewer (misfeldtrm) got what's listed, so I'm just posting as a warning to other buyers who are presumably looking for the same: beware of "AmericanWholesale"! I'm off to try a different 3rd-party.UPDATE: I contacted AmericanWholesale (via "File/View Claim") after posting this and they got back to me within an hour asking for the UPC number to verify that I got the wrong item. An hour or two after I responded with the UPC number they wrote back offering either a replacement or full refund. So they seem like an honest, engaged, and concerned reseller. (I went with the refund, since I had already ordered a replacement from another seller.)
