Is it possible to get jelly roll - 42" length?

Accepted Answer

Yes, just because this is a 24 inch long die doesn't mean you can't longer strips.  The blades only run vertical, but not horizontal.  This means you can cut strips up to 144 inches long.  The Accuquilt can cut up to 6 layers of cotton.  So get your 144 inch long fabric, or 42 inch in your case, accordion fold the fabric on the die, place your cutting mat on top, and run it through the machine.  This will give you the strips the length you need.  Remember this is a 10 inch wide board, so it will only work in the GO! or GO! Big, it won't fit in the GO! Baby.

Is the2 1/2 in die finish size

The 2 1/2 inch die cuts a 2 1/2 inch strip. When the seams are sewn, it finishes at 2 inches.

Will this work with a Sizzix Big Kick?

Most Sizzix machines will not work with Accuquilt dies and vice-versa. The exceptions are the Accuquilt dies that are narrower than 6 inches, such as the Go Baby dies. Are the strips cut straight grain or is the fabric placed at an angle on the bias. If material is folded how long is the strip, what size mat

Accepted Answer

Follow the directions that come with the die.  However, it should be noted that there are lines printed on the die that can be used depending if you are making strips cut on the bias at an angle (30 degree, 45 degree, 60 degree) or a straight cut (90 degree) .  Bias cut strips have more ability to stretch.  When you can cut your own bias strips, you can save a lot of money compared to buying precut bias strips, not to mention the convenience and creativity you can lend to a project.  The actual strip is 23" long, so folded fabric would produce a 46" strip. The cutting mat I use is  Accuquilt #55113 for Accuquilt Go cutters.  It fits this die perfectly.  It also works with several other strip cutter dies.  You will find that you are creating quilt projects that are something you can have pride in and enjoy for years when using the Accuquilt GO! Fabric Cutting dies and cutter....ecological too - no electricity needed.
