Good reference. Having a fifth grader build a word station

the book gives excellent insight for someone with minimal knowledge of the inside working of the computer, performance coordination between hardware and software, and it has helped me a great deal in understanding problem messages on my own computer. I have had instances in the past where if I took my computer to a 'shop' for repair, their goal was to try to sell me stuff that would have nothing to do with fixing the problem. Reading the book has enabled me to ask the right questions and come across as knowledgeable so I cannot be taken for a ride.I hope the author continues to update this edition as technology advances.

Very well written book giving you general knowledge and understanding before you build your first computer.
