Great tool
It’s not a new product and really doesn’t need any reviews at this point. This derailleur hanger alignment tool works great and is notably less expensive than the newer version that Park sells. It’s genuine Park Tool and a good price. It makes my life easier and has come in handy for friends as well

why didn't I buy this years ago
so easy to use. never pay a shop to align your derailleur again.

Great Tool!
This alignment tool is the only one you should consider, no play, heavy duty, lifetime tool. I tried to cheap out and bought one by Fly_H, looks nice but junk, so much play you couldn't get a consistent believable reading, I bent my hanger out of alignment, sent back the next day. This is one tool you should stick to Park on, trust me or learn the hard way, your choice.

Absolutely Amazing
I've never written a review literally minutes after using a product. Took about 10 minutes to use the product. Be careful when removing the derailleur from its hanger, and especially when screwing it back on. Easy to cross thread. This thing, it may be a bit pricey, but does it ever work. Watch Park Tool's video on how to properly use it. My derailleur hanger looked halfway decent to the eye, but it was pretty decently bent inward.... According to this gauge/tool. You can not tell without it.Followed their procedures in their video, and GENTLY used it to bend the derailleur hanger. The derailleur needed a little low limit screw loosening after adjusting with this tool, and done. Shifts better than when brand new, which means the hanger was probably imperceptibly bent in shipping.I usually spend some money on good tools for some tasks, and this is absolutely a case of right tool for the job. It is 100% needed to align a derailleur and get it shifting smoothly.Buy it, and keep it amongst your tools. You're going to need it again. You can probably have a bike shop do this once for around the cost or maybe a little less than this tool. You're going to need to re-align again in the future, so owning the tool that the shops use is just awesome.Haven't done a test ride, but compared to how it was shifting during non-riding adjustment before, it's literally working 100%. Well done Park Tools.

This tool feels like a superpower
You don't know what you are missing until you realize what a difference a period hanger alignment can do for your shifting performance. LOVE this tool.

You May Think You Don’t Need This Tool, But You Do
Park Tool DAG-2.2 Derailleur Hanger Alignment Gauge is another “made to last a lifetime” tool. Which is a good thing, because you may not think you’ll use it often, but once you have, you’ll use it at least once a season (more if you ride hard, crash or bail often).I had always thought a wrench & “eyeballing” was good enough to straighten my derailleur hanger, but could never get my shifting super smooth. I decided to bite the bullet & get the right tool for the job. I decided to spend the extra money on Park Tools as I wanted a strong, well made tool, if I was going to use it to bend my hanger. The DAG-2.2 is made of heavy gauge steel w/chrome platting. This should help protect against rust.Using the DAG-2.2 was fairly easy. After removing the derailleur, you screw the tool into the mounting hole. Then slide the sliding bracket & the indicator rod to the outside of the rim (as close as possible w/out touching the rim). Tighten the indicator in place w/the knob. Move the sliding bracket so it’s inside the wheel (so you do not scratch your rim) & swing the tool to another position on the wheel. Move the sliding bracket & indicator to the outside of the rim & check the distance from the rim. Do this at several points around the rim. You’ll notice the sliding bracket & indicator are not at the same position along the tool as you move around the rim. This is because the mounting hole the tool is screwed into is not at the center of the wheel. If you find that the indicator shows the alignment of the hanger to be off, use the tool carefully, to apply pressure, pushing or pulling to “bend” the hanger slightly. Realign the indicator & continue until it is as close to equal as possible all around the rim. If the hanger is severely bent, you may have to replace it as bending it could break or damage the hanger or your frame. After using the DAG-2.2, I was able to install my derailleur & get super smooth shifting. A derailleur alignment gauge is a great tool to have & a must if you’re hard on your MBT or derailleur. If you want a tool that’ll last a lifetime, invest in the Park Tools DAG-2.2. If you can’t justify the cost, get another brand, you’ll find this is a tool that makes a tremendous difference.Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope you found it helpful.

Niche tool, but useful if you're rough on your bike
Such basic construction, but an incredibly helpful tool if you do your own bike work, and especially if you race cyclocross or do any rugged mountain biking. Have you ever tried to dial in the shifting, but it's still a bit dodgy? Maybe it's the shift housing or cable, but what about the derailleur hanger? It can take damage without actually breaking. And sure, you could buy a couple of spare hangers for the price of this, but you won't necessarily know when to swap it out anyway since you can't measure it. And even a new one could be slightly off! Occasionally checking that your hanger is straight is a great way to keep your shifting crisp. My only complaint is the set-screw could easily come loose and get lost. For now I've put a little blue loctite on it, but that's more of a bodge. I'm not sure if the intent is for you tighten that set screw all the way up to stop the tool from rotating, or if it's just to prevent it's pivot bolt from sliding out of from the bar.
