Simple but effective. I use it for eggs several times a week and it continues to perform. I have not used it for other foods. I think it wood work for soft fruit like kiwi, strawberry or melon. But is not suited for fibrous or firm foods.

Although I really doubt it's strong enough to chop fruits and veggies, especially raw ones, without breaking, this little gadget is what I have been looking for to quickly chop hard boiled eggs for egg salad. First I slice an egg with a traditional egg slicer, then place the whole sliced egg with the slices lying horizontally onto a cutting board, and push this cutter down over the sliced egg until the egg is almost but not quite all the way through the egg. Then I raise up the cutter with the partially chopped egg, turn it over a bowl, and push the egg the rest of the way through with my thumb. Easy to clean, easy to store. Not sure how long this will last, but it's already lasted several months, a lot longer than the first gadget I tried, and it's way simpler to clean. And they give you two, so even if I end up needing to replace these at some point, this is still a definite winner for me.

What a dud! Hard to get the egg thru because the wire doesn't cut! Not at all worksble!

I have been looking for an egg chopper for egg salad for months. I finally found one that is just perfect for my needs. It is sturdy with strong wiring in just the perfect width for egg salad. I haven’t tried cutting anything else.

I use a slicer first then this for smaller pieces . Very sturdy. Light the 2-pk for a spare but so sturdy I gave other one to a friend.
