KNOW WHAT DIAMETER HOSE YOUR USING!
I think that this pump is probably OK for the performance indicated in the charts provided. My recommendation is that the discharge diameters need to be called out in the charts as well. I bought it for its body size to fit a tight fountain base situation. I did not anticipate that it would be a small diameter discharge that I couldn't match up with all of my larger hoses that the 1,000 series handles perfectly. I have to now reorder a larger model and hope that its the correct size discharge.

short life
I have purchased this pump over the past few yeas this one only lasted from April to OctoberI am not happy with having to replace it again this year. I have always purchased the same pump but this one doesn't live up the the others.

I'd recommend
I bought to create a gentle flow through a CPR HOB refugium on a 120 gallon tank, & it produces just the right amount of water through the refuge' to create maximum contact w/ Cheato algae for nitrate / phosphate control.Price right too. I'd recommend

Maybe I got a bad one.
I ordered this powerhead as "Like New" from Amazon. It did appear as new, but had a couple of problems. First, the back cap kept falling off; I could not get it to stay on for any length of time. Second, it was incredibly noisy. Please keep in mind that I run two bigger HOB filters and an air system - it was louder than all of these combined.

Very Reliable Pumps, The Best
The last RIO pump that I had fail lasted 20+ years. The other two are still running. All are in a saltwater reef tank. Great products.
