One of the best books I've ever read!!!
I just finished reading it- wow!! It reads with all the anticipation of an action novel, but without the action. I didn't want to put it down, even to sleep!! I loved the inventiveness of the futuristic setting, and how the setting itself seemed a mixture of good and bad, just like anyone's real life circumstances. It made that world seem very real. The story about Naddie's inner world really made me fall in love with her. The inner processes of her mind and heart really awoke my mind to the realities of abandonment, and helped me understand the struggle for those who have experienced it. The last few chapters had me sitting on the edge of my seat and turning pages just as fast if not faster than the beginning. This is probably one of the best books I've ever read!! Is there a sequel in the works?

Very engaging and wonderfully developed characters that are easy to identify and connect with. The story has just the right amount of depth with a nicely layered complexity. The dystopian world the author has created is beautifully detailed and easy to visualize. I could hardly put it down! The ending had such a lovely twist, I can't wait for book two. Highly recommend and suitable for teens and adults alike.

I loved this book. Naddie, a young girl, lives in a futuristic world that is not kind to the less than perfect. I can't wait for the next book to find out what happens next.

A plot twist I never expected
I am typically a historical fiction person so I was skeptical about a futuristic novel. But I absolutely LOVED this book. Even thought it had futuristic elements and even some futuristic characters, it still had a nostalgic feel to it - hard to explain. And the emotional draw of the characters is sincere and timeless. I really liked the character development and the plot. I am usually not surprised by plot twists, but there was one in this book that really made me go, "What the???"... in a really good way. Such a great story line with an undercurrent of hope and determination. Highly recommend this book.

Amazing Read.
In The Return Policy: The Unfolding the reader is treated to a novel set in 2096 that offers a glimpse into a futuristic society through the lens of the story’s lead character, Naddie Mae. The author brings the story to life through her masterful ability to use the written word to establish context and setting while developing a deep connection with the protagonist.I found myself turning page after page as Cove invited me on Naddie’s journey that was so much more than a trip to a future place and time. The science fiction backdrop is well-crafted and essential to the development of the story, but the true genius is in how the author weaves critical themes of the human experience through the eyes of a child who is faced with the need to find her identity and grow up much too quickly. As a middle level educator, I found The Return Policy to be well suited for adolescents and adults alike. Regardless of age, this suspense-filled novel deserves a place on your bookshelf.

Not just for Young Adults
I love this type of story and Return Policy exceeded my expectations wonderfully; I couldn't put it down and when I had to put it down, anticipated when I could read it again. Captivating from the beginning, with intriguing story line and relatable characters. I want more!

and was amazed at the creative mind of the author
Return Policy, by Karen CoveVery well written book. I had a hard time, putting it down, couldn’t wait for what was to happen next. Got caught up in the main character, a little girl growing up in a world that was somewhat new to her, but totally foreign to me, as the reader. I was swept away, following her adventures, allowing me to follow her thinking and development, and was amazed at the creative mind of the author. Can’t wait to read the sequel.Tony Ansems, Neenah, WI
