Ignore the Fake, negative reviews from Competitors!
Amazon delivered my StayblCam here recently, and my wife and I already LOVE this product! Although it's sad to see some obviously fake negative reviews from competitors trying to drag this product's rating down though. Seems like the seller has tried to help and address everybody in the comments, but interestingly, these "reviewers" then don't respond back (typical competitor tactic and it happens here on Amazon sadly). Obviously competitors that are bitter about StayblCam having a far superior product and they are losing sales - so they are clearly just posted to try to hurt this company's sales. But back to the positive - let me tell you why me and my wife love using the StayblCam so much. For many years, we used to record all of our family videos on VHS or Sony Super8mm videos. Remember those big clunky VHS recorders they had in the 80's? Hah... those were something else. Then came the smaller more compact camcorders with tapes, and finally memory cards. Ironically enough, when we did video with the larger VHS camcorders, stability wasn't so much of an issue - because the sheer size and weight of those cameras (which you carried on your shoulder) gave the videos remarkably good stability! Now, the video quality of vhs however was an entirely different beast. Today's cell phones / iphones can shoot video quality so crisp and clear that you can make real looking movies on them. Talk about progress..Folks like us though who have been doing home video for so many years, kinda miss the somewhat steady video you would get from the old school, larger cameras. That's no longer possible with a tiny little cell phone camera in your hand. And that's where the StableCam comes in! The grandkids are always in full swing, but now we can get some very very smooth looking videos again of all the action. Since I'm no editing whiz, my wife edits our home videos. Some of our older clips filmed on phones would be almost unwatchable but everything we have filmed with the StableCam is really pleasant to watch. You can also tell that your video will turn out great - while you are filming. I think this is because of how the two-axis handle and poles moves with your hand. The bottom of the unit has a long sort of counterweight part to it that balances out the top where your phone or camera sits. Both our iPhones (5 and 6) fit nicely in the adapter. My son's Galaxy S6 also fits but since he uses a fairly thick case on his, the case must come off before he can put it on the StayblCam, which is no big deal. It's a great time we live in now with all the technological modern advances. Modern phones can house a GPS, heartbeat monitors, the internet at your fingertips, and amazing cameras that would have cost a fortune just years ago. And with innovative new tools for the masses such as this video stabilizer we can all be our own semiprofessional camera-men / camera-women. I sure wish my parents or grandparents had all this when I was little. Would have loved to see what their home videos could have been like.

The stayblcam is a good smartphone stabilizer that may or may not be what ...
The stayblcam is a good smartphone stabilizer that may or may not be what you're looking for in terms of a smartphone/gopro stabilizer.Pros: Small, relatively lightweight, compact, easy to carry around in a bag. Pretty easy to learn how to use. When combined with my Galaxy S6's optical image stabilization shots come out nicely. The build quality is great, very sturdy and solidly built, doubt that someone would really be able to break/deform it under normal use.Cons: I wish that after you find your balance point, you could lock the top and bottom into place. There would be times that during normal usage my balance would become off and I would have to readjust the balance of top/bottom. Panning left/right is only done by moving your wrist left or right, whereas on larger glidecams/steadicams you could move the pole left right to achieve panning capabilities, easier in my opinion. if your smartphone or smartphone case is weighted to either front/back at all the stayblcam will not be able to perfectly balance upright making the user have to compensate more with their fingers on the bottom the the pole.Summary: If you enjoy shooting videos on your smartphone/gopro, and realize that although this isn't a perfect solution. For the price its definitely worth a try, I'm generally pretty satisfied with the purchase but realize that it does have its flaws.PS. Does anyone else think this looks a little... suspect? haha I definitely had to explain it when the weird looks came rolling by.

Minor flaw, but a great product nonetheless
I originally ordered Stayblcam directly from their website in Black. After 3 months of waiting, I contacted them to find out the Black would be out of stock until June. So I decided to cancel and go for my second choice: White. Upon first examination, the Stayblcam is solidly built, made of a nice solid plastic with stainless steel telescoping pole. As advertised, my phone slipped easily into the slot and it stayblized (stabilized) the footage greatly. So why subtract a star? On the third use when I pulled on the top section to use the Stayblcam, it popped off of the pole. It almost looked like there was no adhesive holding it on. A little bit of super glue, and we were back in business, but I expect not to have flaws like this in a brand new product. As Stayblcam is a new company, there may be problems like this, though the company Stayblgear is very committed to customer satisfaction, and will make sure you are happy to the best of there ability. Overall, I am happy with my Stayblcam. It does its job well, packs small, and is generally well built. I would recommend this to anyone interested in a low cost, simple camera stabilizer that gets the job done.
