Best R20/BR20 Soft White (2700K) I could find in 2019
Having had to replace many different types of bulbs by LEDs in two successive houses, and having encountered numerous duds in the no-brand Chinese imports that dominate Amazon right now, I now always look for a brand name if I can. In the R20/BR20 category, in 2019 it is difficult to find efficient 2700K bulbs with good luminosity. When doing an exhaustive search on Amazon, the most luminosity you can find is 550 lumen. Among these 550 lumen bulb, the best "brand" is Bioluz, a small US company. A few weeks ago I picked up a 10-pack of these Bioluz R20 2700K bulbs that I substituted all around the house. So far my experience has been positive. Their hue matches my existing incandescent 60W bulbs EXACTLY: when I put one of these LED bulbs in a row of incandescent bulbs of the same kind, it is not possible to see a hue difference. Their 550 lumen appear to be real: compared to old (several years old) 60W incandescents they give out about the same light They don't flicker in any location that I have tried. All 10 bulbs in the pack worked, and none has died in the past 2 weeks. So all in all a good experience.A few nitpicks:* 550 lumen is NOT equivalent to 60W incandescent: that would be 850 lumen (per the US Department of Energy)... So the label is somewhat misleading. But it is probably a 50W-equivalent, and, when compared to old 60W incandescent bulbs (several years of use) they look on a par (which, of course, means they would be less powerful than new 60W incandescent bulbs).* they cannot be purchased on smaller quantities than 10 without paying an arm and a leg.I have not had a chance to put them on dimmers, so I cannot vouch for their dimmable ability, which several reviewers had trouble with. But, in my applications they do well so far: 5-stars.

Excellent bulbs
Finally, a great 50 Watt equivelant LED bulb. I certainly have tried many others and found them all to be lacking. These are great. The 3000K is clean, not yellow, not blue, just right light. Even on my old dimmer these dim to about 90% And one bulb fell from my 9' ceiling onto a tile floor - did not break - and is still working. Very impressive.

Pretty Amazing Bulbs
We have 23 PAR20 4 inch pot lights in our home office built 4 years ago. I have a whole house power sensor installed so I can accurately read any load. Those 23 incandescent lights are rated at 45 watts and 380 lumens each totaling 1035 watts. I looked at replacing those bulbs since I thought finally LED tech had gotten to the point where price, color temp, and dim-ability were no longer a problem. I looked around in Amazon and chose BioLuz based on features and reviews. I bought a 4 pack to try out, they were quickly delivered. I was very pleased with them, actually I was amazed at the color temp being indistinguishable from the other incandescent bulbs. The only difference was the LED bulbs were brighter, and we needed more brightness as the office was never bright enough. The LED bulbs were quiet, and fairly dimmable using an existing dimmer not rated for LED dimming. I cooked up an Excel spreadsheet to calculate the ROI to buy 24 LED BioLuz bulbs (a 4 pack and a 20 pack for the 23 fixtures we have). 24 bulbs at combined price of $5.12 each, 10 hours/day 7 days a week of use, $0.10/KWH, 1035 watts for 23 incandescent bulbs vs. 161 watts for 23 LED bulbs = ROI 4.5 months to break even on LED bulbs purchased against electricity $ saved. Four and a half months ROI is an easy decision, so I bought the 20 pack, installed them and we are very happy with the results. The office looks brand new with the extra lumens at the perfect color temp. We thought we would need dimmers but we like the extra brightness and will not add dimmers (the dimmer test was done in another part of the house with track lights that does have a dimmer). This review is written after a week of use. I only hope they last a few years, I do not expect 25,000 hours of life. That limit is rarely reached in the real world and I doubt we will get the 6.8 years of life that could be reached with our use. Typically LED lights fail after only two or three years due to power supply electronic component issues so we will have to see about the reliability of these BioLuz bulbs.
