O**K
Does the job
This was the only product I could find that makes it comfortable to play a snare drum with your feet, so I have nothing to compare it to. I wouldn't say I'm impressed for what it costs, but it has filled my need so I'm happy with it. It holds the drum in a good position and allows easy mounting of a kick drum pedal. The stand feels pretty secure on the ground, but the drum itself is not held very tightly, so I think they could greatly improve the mounting mechanism where it secures the drum rim. While playing it seems the drum is not moving around, so the somewhat insecure mounting may not be a big deal. I also found the rear legs for adjusting the height/angle are a bit awkward to tighten and don't seem very robust. I wouldn't be confident that it would withstand the rigors of heavy touring, but it should work fine for playing at home or perhaps light gigging, busking, etc.I'm a solo musician and sometimes play my kick drum and hi-hat pedal while singing and playing guitar to provide rhythmic accompaniment. This stand allowed me to use the left foot for snare instead of hi-hat (or in addition to it). I'm using an Iron Cobra kick drum pedal with a felt beater, and it bounces a bit on the snare so I need to try other beater types. I've also found that since the snare drum is mounted vertically, the snares don't resonate and rest the same way as when the drum is mounted flat on a normal snare stand. So you may need to adjust your snare tension, and that combined with striking it with a pedal means it won't sound like a typically mounted snare hit with a stick. That should be rather obvious, and it still sounds like a snare, so these compromises are not a big deal.If it were just a bit more affordable (under $100), or held the drum better, I would have given it at least 4 stars.
