African Fresh Bitter Kolanuts 0.5lbs

LOVE THIS. Would definitely purchase again from this seller! The nuts arrived super fast and they were ALL fresh! I've been chewing on them all week-- and I LOVE it. Gets me through the tedious tasks of work and home. As the other reviewer said (not in these exact words..) Goodbye, coffee/soda; Hello, beautiful Kola.The cola nuts received are the same as the ones displayed in the photo, although I did notice more red/pinkish ones than the white ones in the bunch. I enjoy the white ones a bit more as I find them to be somewhat less bitter than the reddish ones. Also, there were about 10-15 nuts with two/three lobes.. so definitely fair price for the quality and online convenience (vs. having to hunt down specific stores in your area that carry the product). And the effect of the nuts--- *five stars*.Remember, if you're looking for the kola nuts to give you a boost of energy, i.e., the caffeinated kola nuts, you are look for Cola acuminata-- NOT Garcinia Kola. Be sure to do your research. Or take it from me, these are the Cola acuminatas and they are FAB.

I ordered 1-lb. of these kola nuts, and they arrived on-time, as promised. Each nut is very large, and they are indeed bitter. As no peeling is required, I simply slice 1/3 of a nut, and together with whole black peppercorns, and chew. Yep, I do swallow all :) . These nuts are fresh, and just what I was looking for. As an alternative, I slice 1/2 of a nut, and blend it up in my smoothie. You'll have tiny chunks of kola nut at the bottom of the smoothie, so if you try it this way, you might want to have a spoon handy. My preferred smoothie recipe (in a single serving blender jar): Boathouse Vanilla Chai Tea, ice cubes, 1/2 of a sliced kola nut, 1 tablespoon of Bonga Baobab Superfood Powder, 3 tablespoons of Essential Living Foods Organic Premium Superfood Smoothie Mix (Acai & Goji Boost). I will certainly be back to order more of these kola nuts! I store them (as air-tight as possible), in a plastic food storage bag, and then place that bag inside of a brown paper bag. That way, I can store them on my counter top. Happy Kola Nutting~!!!~P.S.: I have boundless energy for a 60-something year old, and hubby has kiddingly informed me that I'm restricted to two days/week, of kola nutting, for fear that he'll find me swinging from the ceiling.

I received a bunch of completely dried and almost rotten kola nuts. Very disappointing when the sale pitch was "fresh" kola nuts. That is very deceitful.

Kola nuts are the source of the both the name of the iconic soft drink Coca Cola, and the original source of caffeine. Kola nuts can be 2% caffeine, which means, a small slice (they are semi-soft) of one kola nut, is like concentrating a cup of coffee to one sip. Combine that with chewing the nut, and the caffeine will be absorbed very quickly into your system. And you get a buzz that lasts for quite awhile. In addition to the caffeine, the are a host of other phytochemicals in kola nuts. Of course, your stimulation comes at a gustatory cost, as kola nuts are bitter (but not deathly so). And the reward is well worth it.The kola nuts were shipped quickly and in excellent quality. Besides chewing, you can also use the kola nuts to make your own soft drinks that taste much better than any store bought.

This was the first time I bought kolanuts. They came in a paper bag with no information. After a week or so of leaving them in the bag on the counter they developed bugs. I had to dispose of about 1/2 the bag. After some research I found out how to store them. The kolanuts themselves definitely gave me the caffeine kick I needed. Also seemed to help with suppressing my appetite and weight loss.

Fast delivery which was awesome. Upon arrival the size, color were good, and they were firm. They came packaged in a ziplock bag with a napkin inside, which was expected because I saw previous purchases. I wish the seller would consider packaging them differently because they arrived with a lot condensation. My concerns are they didn't stay fresh for very long, from Aug 1-9, so a week and a day. I had them in a cool, dry place and out of the bag. Maybe they weren't as fresh when ai recieved them, anyhow, I'm not sure what happened. Unfortunately, for what they're used for you can't eat them too quickly to avoid them from going bad. I may give the seller a second chance, not too sure.

I decided to try these after doing some research about Kola nuts and these came as pictured, I got 15 nuts with 2 lobes each, 7 white and 8 red. If you never tried them, they do taste quite bad. I found the best way for me is by cutting them in half, using a small knife cut off any rough parts. Then I minced it and put in a small bowl and added honey and a dash of cinnamon. Mix and then only put a little bit in your mouth and chew. I eat mine, but some spit it out after 5-10 mins of chewing. it is way more tolerable. I do feel an energy increase and appetite reduction that kicks in after 30 mins or so of chewing/eating. I did eat one full nut and I felt fine and great, not hungry at all for most of the day, and tons of energy. To store these nuts wrap in a wet paper towel and keep in a plastic baggy at room temp. They should last 2-3 weeks. I am using these not for every day, but to help me with a spiritual fasting. I will be ordering again!

The kolanuts came fresh. I'm pleased with this purchase.
