Wood Burning Lightweight Titanium Backpacking/Camp Stove

the efficiency
I love that the stove is so light and is great for backpacking. It's lighter than the small butane stove that I also own. It also burns any kind of woody material and is really handy in that way! It also gets hot much quicker, especially in colder weather. It boils water fast which is fantastic!

This thing is like a blow torch under your pot
This thing is like a blow torch under your pot.I heated 2 cups of water in about 3 minutes, it is just as fast as a canister gas stove. The downsides I used a 900 snowpeak pot (with lid) that is the smallest pot I would recommend, the fan blows ashes but if you have a lid on your pot it doesn't matter. Also you can set this on a picnic table without leaving marks the base stays cool. All in all this is worth the cash and I am happy with my purchase!!

But.... I haven't used it yet ...
But....I haven't used it yet. It functions as my other Sierra Stove does, so Im optimistic.

Boils water fast.
I've used a Sierra stove for many years and I love it. The plus side is that the battery lasts for many meals and you do not carry fuel making it the lightest stove for long trips. The down side is that rangers may ask you to not use it during a fire ban and bans are common where I live. I use Sierra's spark protector. The first time I use the stove in winter while cooking from my sleeping bag, a spark burned a hole in my bivisack so I learned to pay attention to sparks. It is a superior stove for sea kayaking, canoeing and summer camping when you are not wearing a down nylon parka. It is best to not use it under a nylon rain fly, again because a spark may burn a hole in it. You will return from your trip smelling like a campfire but if you don't want to carry fuel, this is a fabulous stove and it is surprisingly hot. It is efficient; a few pine cones or twigs or small pieces or dry cow pie, and your meal is cooked.

AMAZING BLOWTORCH! For over 4 days, the LIGHTEST, high performance stove available.
I have had one for over 25 years-when they first introduced the Ti version. At first, I was aversive to having the battery power to depend upon (it will work-less efficiently-but work, without the fan-btw). Well, I carry two back up AAs for my flashlight while backpacking over 4 days or in any length winter time outing anyway, so that is no big deal. Once you factor in the weight savings of NOT having to carry fuel, it becomes effectively (stove plus fuel weight) one of the lightest high performance stoves available. Being able to boil unlimited amounts of water for coffee or tea is IMMENSELY beneficial for your spirits and internal warmth if you are taking a break in a snow or rainstorm. The little fan transforms this into an incredible forge-once lit-even wet twigs burn fine, though of course dry is preferable. The cons-1- kind of bulky, 2-technically it houses a "fire" (but aren't all flame producing stoves?) but rangers won't cite you in burn bans if you are sober, polite to them, and use it responsibly (over 3M away from leaves and pine needles); and, as ANY stove that burns wood/pine cones, it can set out a spark that will quickly put a hole through that miracle 110G. wind jacket in a nanosecond! They should sell them with a solid plastic bowl-mine had sharp edges that didn't pack well and used a Sams Club sized XL Cool Whip container. I have since resold it due to doing only (work/family related) occasional backpacking overnights now, and wish I had taken a video of its phenomenal performance, and still highly recommend it for backpack trips of over 4 days.
