Excellent Vibration Sensor. Extremely sensitive when biased properly.
Excellent Vibration Sensor. Extremely sensitive. You have to be knowledgeable about basic electronics design to get the correct circuit designed for this. But once you connect the right circuit and tune it, viola.... You have an unbelievably sensitive vibration pickup ready!I use this to trigger recording for security cameras. This is much more useful than the IR motion detectors or the video frame-based motion sensing stuff built into the DVR.All it takes is the vibration of somebody opening the door of the house - ten feet away, this little device picks that up and my camera starts recording.Keep in mind that you can connect multiple of these Vibration sensor pickups in parallel if you need.Pl. ignore previous review that states that this pickup is not sensitive. That reviewer either got a defective piece or is not biasing the circuit correctly.

Extremely accurate sensor
Ignore the other review. These things are very sensitive, in fact so sensitive I can't use it for the project I had in mind! I hooked it up to an arduino and left it on the counter. My footsteps near by were enough to set it off. I will have to resort to using a mercury switch for my project, but will find a use for these bad boys somewhere else.

Sensitive and cheap sensor
The media could not be loaded. Â My review is based on the comparison of HDX-2 with a similar cheap vibration sensor SW-18010P.HDX-2 outperforms SW-18010P and is a very good deal considering its price/performance ratio. Please see the attached video for details. A clip is worth a million words !!!

SO MUCH FUN
You don't need no Arduino to enjoy these! Imagine a ball held in mid air by springs (orientation doesn't matter). The slightest little shake and the switch stutters a brief connection. So metal ball in a can!It isn't a tilt sensor! Just vibration. But EASY to use and LOADS of fun!

As another user posted which I just saw, these ...
As another user posted which I just saw, these are tilt sensors, not vibration sensors. Measuring resistance across, they are showing 0-0.25 ohms with no vibrations. If I knock the table, resistance shoots up to a few hundred ohms. Will not work for my application.

Not a vibration sensor
These definitely are not vibration sensors. More like a tilt sensor if anything. You can hear the spring or whatever it is inside and it is definitely not "springy". Has more of a clank sound as you shake it.
