I’m really happy with the Wisdom Panel Premium Dog DNA Kit. It provides detailed insights, including breed identification, health tests, traits, and even relatives. The results were clear and easy to understand, giving me a great picture of my dog’s ancestry and health. A fantastic tool for any rescue dog owner wanting to learn more about their furry friend’s genetics!

Easy to use and the results are amazing.

I was a little leery about whether or not this data would be "true" and accurate. After getting our results back, we knew with 100% certainty that it was! Specifically, we have a dog with a very unique physical trait - he has a short tail - much shorter than it should be for his breed. When we received his results, one of the "genetic" markers shown that our dog carriers a gene specific to this anomaly. The results explained that this genetic "trait" came from 1 parent, because if he had inherited the gene from both parents he would never have been born. Dogs that carry 2 of this gene die in utero and are reabsorbed by the mother's body. Very specific information for sure! Very detailed results provided. Thank you WISDOM - loved this!

Awesome product worth the money. Fractional cost then vet in comparison. Was able to share the records with my vet and other breeders. Great marketing tool for breeders or for your family pup of companion or for your dog trainers. My dog is also a working therapy dog so it helps with explaining to the public when they ask what she is mixed with.

This was my 3rd kit from Wisdom Panel and I could not be more pleased. I had tried another company and it as OK, but what you get in this one's premium kit far surpasses competitors. Not only do they break down related breeds better (ex: American bull terrier and Staffordshire terrier), they also give you a very nice breakdown of the traits in percentages, and tell you summaries of each related breed. This really helped me know which pups I wanted to keep when looking at a recent litter. Health traits are such a helpful feature, too, and now I understand what I should watch for to keep them as healthy as possible. These kits are ideal for dogs that come from a shelter (which mine did) so you at least know what to expect in various behaviors. You can dig into the DNA as deep as you want (which I find fascinating!), so much great data to dig in to. Love this product and highly recommend.

We adopted a dog that looks a lot like a corgi except for some chihuahua around the eyes, and the legs were definitely not corgi-like. So, tired of telling people "we don't know, but we think he's part corgi and chihuahua," we ordered this. Turns out, not a corgi at all! He just happened to get similar traits from his cocktail of genes that match the general look of a corgi, but it's nice to know what he is after all! It was easy enough to use even with our picky/nervous boy - was worried we didn't get enough genetic material but it seemed to work fine. Accuracy I'm assuming is correct for now, as we'll probably not invest more funds on other testing to compare. Some of the Traits weren't quite right ("likely floppy ears" when his are opposite of that), but overall had some interesting insights that held true. It's the nature of genetic testing, but I feel some of the traits are simply based on his mix of breeds instead of actual genes for those traits. It was at least nice to know he doesn't have genetic predisposition to certain health issues, so I appreciated that (assuming it's accurate). Overall, happy with this test and glad we finally did it! I guess the biggest thing I'd want is a simple one-page printout of the information presented on the website. I also wish I didn't have to make a login - this is kind of a one-time thing and now there's yet another login out there that will likely get breached in the future, as all eventually do. So it'd be nice to get a nice 1-2 page color PDF report I can print out for keeps. Still, it is what it is, and I'm glad there are services like this so we can understand our furry creatures' backgrounds.

Im so happy I bought this test because the last DNA test I bought was highly inaccurate! I was told that my dog is border collie but she actually isnt! She has some herding breeds in her but her main breeds are guarding! I really wanted to find her relatives and turns out she has 2 close relatives but unfortunately they dont live near us. I sent the test on Monday and they received it on Saturday and it only took 1 week for them to give me back the results! Im also happy that she doesnt have any health issues! Overall I love this test and I recommend it to anyone who wants to do a DNA test for their dog!

Primero que nada, me gustaría aclarar a las personas que quieran comprar la prueba y se encuentren fuera de los Estados Unidos que el cómo hagan llegar la muestra que le tomen a su perrito a los laboratorios de Wisdom Panel en EE. UU. corre por cuenta de ustedes, y no es fácil debido a las restricciones aduanales que existen para enviar tejidos orgánicos y muestras animales. El equipo de Wisdom Panel manda el kit ya con sellos postales y correctamente etiquetado, pero solo para envíos dentro de los Estados Unidos. Habiendo aclarado eso, si logras hacer llegar la muestra al laboratorio en California, el servicio que ellos proporcionan es de primer nivel: muy exacto en cuanto a la herencia genética de tu perrito. Además, tienen un gran servicio al cliente que en todo momento me estuvo atendiendo y ayudando en lo que podían para que yo pudiera hacerles llegar la muestra de mi niño. El servicio premium, que fue el que compré, incluye un test de enfermedades genéticas que te muestra si tu mascota padece, va a padecer o tiene propensión a alguna enfermedad heredada. Creo que revisan más de 200. Mi familia y yo estamos muy contentos con los resultados; ahora ya sabemos cuál es la ascendencia de mi perrito y podemos entender mejor sus comportamientos y cómo podemos darle el mejor cuidado posible. Definitivamente recomiendo este servicio y volvería a comprarlo (a pesar de las dificultades de paquetería y aduanales).
