9"x15" Inflatable Fireplace Draft Blocker (Small Chimney Pillow®)

This was the answer to my no flue 84 year old fireplace! Easy to inflate and install and fit air tight.

I’ve installed it twice, and it has deflated on its own both times. There’s probably a leak somewhere since, as others have said, the plastic isn’t durable.Update: This is an absolutely useless product. I changed my rating from two stars to one. I've replaced it with a wool chimney stopper, which was easy to install and works perfectly.

As the weather gets colder the balloon falls out I think due to contraction of the air, or it has a pinhole leak. I suspect its the former, will see when it gets very cold.

I was not able to fit this balloon in my flue because the flue was too far above the damper. So I bought the wrong size for my application. I'm going to try putting it up in the top of my chimney where the flue is easily accessed. My problem was that I did not do enough research. This is definitely a MEASURE TWICE CUT ONCE type of product. Go to the ChimneyBalloon.com website and get educated first, then order one.The product seems well designed and the instructions are good. I felt the price was high but I guess fair since many people might mistakenly buy the wrong size and they likely have to handle a lot of returns and or exchanges. I think they are good at this though, or so I've read.Amazon was fast and reliable as they always are.

Once arrived, it took me several months to install. The balloon will not hold air and therefore does not work. The return time period had lapsed, therefore I am stuck with a product that does not work.

I got this to help keep my living room cool during the summer. Most of the info talks about keeping your heating costs down, but I live in Houston. I needed to have something to keep my cooling costs down. It was easy to install and has helped keep the living areas cooler. I do recommend this product.

I had an awful odor coming from my fireplace, partially because I have a very old fireplace/chimney and the draft is more than obvious.
