Nice read for extra time
I like the subject and the story line however it is very minimalistic and dry (which is fine for a romance novel because a too exaggerated or overly descriptive scenes can be compared to reading a porn script). Besides that, especially in the begining it is hard to understand who says what due to that minimalistic language. However by the end of the book it gets better so that is why I gave this book four stars. Some people said that the charachter of the young man seems unrealistic and too mature for his age but I disagree. Sometimes adults underestimate young people and some teens can be very mature by the time they reach their twenties. Something in the same genra as "How Stella Got Her Groove Back".

A love story for readers who don't read love stories - and for those who do
Dianne Highbridge's A Much Younger Man unfolds with pressure-cooker intensity. The suspense doesn't let up, even though the title and the meeting in the first chapter basically tell you what's coming. The "much younger man" is actually a teenager - credible as such and not at all generic. In fact he's fully developed and quite likable. The supporting characters also get their due, often with mordant humor. One of the many things I loved about this novel was that the characters were "normal" yet no less interesting for it. They all had some kind of edge. The person who holds this together is Aly, the "older woman" (late thirties), skittish about another try at romance, ever observant and alert, not the sort of person who would get herself into this sort of situation. The story is told from her perspective with a tight focus, sprinklings of terse humor, and devastatingly on-target psychological observations. At first I resisted reading this novel due to the subject matter. But once I picked it up the pages flew. If I had to choose one word to describe the plot momentum, it would be "relentless." It just totally pulls you along. The story happens mostly in an Australian city, and you get quite a sense of the place. Part of it is in Italy.A Much Younger Man could also be a fabulous movie. If you'd like to read a well-constructed, psychologically astute novel with characters who develop and brilliant writing, I recommend A Much Younger Man, by Dianne Highbridge. She is a story-teller and an artist. I can't wait for her next book.

I loved it!!!
Beautiful, romantic -- I loved. A fast easy read. As soon as I finished it, I began reading it for a second time. I would think all women (I think it's a woman's book) would love it, but, maybe I enjoyed it so much, because I've had a similar experience....

Surprisingly Well Done
I had no expectations when I read the first page of this book and was surprised when I found it hard to put down. Well written and thought provoking this book takes you into the heart of a woman with integrity faced with some difficult choices.

A couragous display of unacceptable passion, love and hope.
Beautifully written - erotic without the "heavy breathing". A high caliber love story. The reader will discover a new way to look at a daunting subject.

HORRIBLE!
I wanted to read this book because the topic of a older woman and a younger man intrigued me. However, this author blew the whole story. The ending was horrible and predictable..her writing style is horrible. She writes with so many short sentences and it's almost like you don't know who's speaking at the moment or if she's thinking. I do not know what the other reviewers were reading, but their either paid relatives or friends. This book was BAD! The boy was way too mature for his age and the characters didn't touch me at all. 2 thumbs down!!

Stereo type, movie like and abit confusing
Sometimes it makes you confused about who's saying that. The story if a repeatitive of other stories or movies or part of them, nothing new in it and the romance isnt hot and stimulating. If you have read many books or watches many movies or good fantasy then this book will be too boring for you.
